I also have no problem taking Klingberg or Brodie back in any trade for Z/Tanev if that sweetens the pot.

Leafs have a 1st in 2024, 1st in 2026 and some 3rds. No 2nd rounders.
Prospects and upandcomers....
Knies
Liljegren
Easton Cowen
Fraser Minten
Not much there. How much of that do they want to part with?

Here’s a hot prediction. Tre gets fired this offseason. The Leafs so far haven’t shown much emotion as a team and these terrible adds of so-called character are just wasted roster spots. Treliving is putting an odd stamp and he already has to correct his mistakes.
If he deals Knies or his 1st he’s setting himself up for harsh scrutiny.

Liljegren is a guy who I could see the Flames coveting in return. Knies won’t be on the table for any of our 3 D on the block.
Klingberg+Liljegren+1st for Tanev+Zadorov (one retained to make the money work)+3rd would be fine by me.

I think the Leafs would need to at least lose in the first round or miss the playoffs and have Nylander walk as a free agent for something like that to happen

Knies better be on the table for Hanifin
Also, the Flames don't have to trade with the Leafs even if their media and players think it's a good idea

A tie certainly doesn't go to the Leafs though
We can use them as leverage...their hype machine is already helping. With all due respect it's ####ing Zadorov who two teams already basically gave away.

I don’t think Hanifin and the Leafs are a match. All we hear is about our other guys with Toronto.
Noah has a 8 team no trade list and I would not be shocked to see 6 of those teams being in Canada. He came close to staying here because he likes Calgary but I think he will head back to the States.
Knies would be tied in the team lead for goals and points if he were a flame (likely doesn’t have those numbers here).

Knies isn’t on the table. Cost controlled asset that already plays in their top 6. For the Leafs and their salary cap situation, they need cheap ELC players for it to work. I’d view Knies as pretty much untouchable, especially if they have any hope of keeping Nylander.

It would be hilarious if Brodie came back on a deal. I think he is legitimately the best defencemen in the deal right now. The funny part is that the Flames could then flip him to one of Toronto's rivals at the deadline.
I am really curious what the offers are looking like right now. Obviously they aren't high enough on anyone or Conroy would have pulled the trigger already, but I am curious what has been offered.

Knies seems good, but I think I'd rather have Niemela, and I assume he's off the table. I like what I've read about Cowan.

This is really the ideal situation for Conroy. Let the agent and the Toronto media feed the Zadorov hype and sit back and wait for a great offer. If you don’t get one, just wait until the trade deadline and pawn him off to the highest bidder as teams get desperate.

Brodie would be a good get, but I picture the reunion would be similar to that gif from Community when Troy comes back and opens the door and the entire apartment is on fire.

I could see Liljegren as well.
The list was more to show that leafs don't have a lot to give away in a trade. When they sign Willy, they are going to be needing cheap labor to fill out the lower half of that lineup. They need picks for that assuming Tre has a long term view.

They do, they just (understandably) don't want to give up the stuff that's actually valuable.

According to the Athletic, the Leafs legimate prospects are:
Matthew Knies
Fraser Minten
Topi Niemela
Easton Cowan
Dennis Hildeby
Nick Robertson
Since Niemela is the only blueliner on that list, I would suspect they would hesitate to part with him the most.

Watching Robertson, he’s got a shoot first mentality that is missing for the Flames. Think he could do well in a top 6 role in a rebuild here, personally.

Hanifin isnt on the table. He said the Flames 3D available.
Point is #### the Leafs...they aren't dictating who is and isn't on the table. Hanifin is more valuable than anything else they have.

I was just going to mention him. Might be a buy low guy as he's had some injuries too.
Zadorov
Ruzicka
3rd
for
Klingberg
Robertson
1st
