Honestly, I love watching Zary and Popisil. Much better than having Lewis and Lucic out there. Gives you hope. Popisil especially tonight with that Coleman goal.

Played about four minutes per period. Zero PP time after the first, which is where he is his strongest. It's a brutal situation.

Huberdeau Markstrom and Zadorov to Toronto. Come on Craig, you know Tree loves big trades.

Not great. Feel sorry for Wolf. Nothing left after the second period. Oh well. Move on to Montreal.

Who’s that Joe guy? His grammar is worse than Z’s play.

"He wasn't the worst". $10.5M well spent.

Oh hey, Zad's agent also reps Vladar. (or at least the same agency does)

A very similar team was able to execute Sutter's system last year, it just didn't work because hey had goaltending nobody could win with. This year we don't even have a system. It's just terrible play all over the ice.

As a coach Huska was brutal in the AHL, so really why would he get good now.

Mitch Love was a successful coach and instead of giving him a chance they promoted Pierre Maguire 2.0.

I mean, it's probably better to just collapse than be the 20th overall team, but at least instill some good habits and get them playing a good brand of hockey.

I will say I'm done trying to figure out what Huska is as a coach, as the answer is a wet towel. Bad in the AHL, completely useless as an NHL head coach.

Not getting a GM and coach with fresh eyes into he organization was a truly pathetic move that just stinks of management where everyone sits around sniffing each other's farts.
I'm not sure how anyone can watch what's going on and put any blame on the coach.

Their 'best' offensive forwards are completely MIA. And for a team with no snipers and little offensive talent to begin with, that's a death blow.

The defense looks good on paper but has been quite poor. And now one of them has asked for a trade.

It's a mess, but it's all on the players. The giveaways, the brain dead penalties, the gaffes like Zadorov tonight. Unforced errors galore, stuff you learn in novice or pee wee. Tough to coach that. The players need to take the heat.

We also had a 30 goal sniper last season. I'm not even sure we have a 20 goal guy this year.

We've lost out best forward(s) two offseasons in a row, without replacing even a fraction of their production.

I'm not saying this is a contending team, but they are better than this.

The Flames went from a legit coach who was a hard ass right back to bargain bin hunting again. There are lots of good experienced coaches, with track records in the NHL who the Flames could have hired.

Why can we not try another good coach? Is Edwards that cheap?

People grading Huberdeau on the Matt Phillips curve. “He had a few good chances!”. Yikes.

Bleak - genuinely don’t know where it goes from here since you can’t get rid of him without giving up a good asset, which the Flames aren’t in a position to do.

Kind of an odd take but I am super disappointed by Dube. This could be the type of situation where he really steps up into his own, but seems like he’s giving a giant shrug. Maybe I overestimated his potential but at one point I thought he could be a pretty good 2nd line scoring winger. He looks like a borderline NHLer at this point

Do you watch this team and think, wow, that's a well structured team that plays hard and just doesn't have he skill to score? Because I see an absolute tire fire in all three zones and a coach with no history of success doing nothing about it. But he likes #zonedefense.

The team is bad, but there is value to having a good coach and that is not Huska.

$10.5M 40 point player.

It just is what it is at this point. It’ll sewer this team as long as it continues on this way. You can’t overcome that. It’s the single biggest contractual problem in the league..

What’s the point of having the team pick up more wins and end up with the 12th worst record?
