He was a healthy scratch to start his stint in Calgary.

He was on the 3rd pair his first season and played a similar role to this year last season.

It's pretty obvious this is a business decision.

Zadorov’s play and reputation has improved since he arrived here, as evidenced by his last contract. I’d like to see more than a 3rd for him.

I don’t often post this stuff but I do have a connection to the team and I believe I posted a few things before they happened (Talbot signing and AAV, Markstrom, Richardson/Gudbranson late summer signings).

Conroy is pissed at Milstein and is going to call him and rip him apart. As of 2 days ago Z wanted to re-sign for 6 years for “a lot”. Conroy isn’t going to rush this and will do it on his terms as Zadorov isn’t a good enough player to have demands like this.

Not trying to be an “insiderrr” but I like to share when I get interesting tidbits.

Pretty crazy how quick CP Is to turn on this guy. Was one of the few that outwardly GAF.

If Flames were rewarding real leaders, Zadorov would have an "A" instead of Huberdeau.

Zadorov was the only guy keeping the opposition honest physically. Going to be tough to replace what he brings.

I’d keep Z. Been on that camp all year. I have to trust that Connie knows what he is doing and Z is just asking too much (min. 5x5) which is why Connie hasn’t shown strong interest. At least it best not be because Hanifin.

So his agent went on Twitter and made comments. Requested a trade that got out.

Not sure what they are trying to accomplish but back the Flames into a corner and trade him quick.

Honestly Zadorov might be worth 5x5. Would rather him at that price and term over Hanifin.

Hanifin and Tanev are on the way out anyway.

Need someone to mentor guy like Solovyov, and Zadorov would have been ideal there.

This is just disastrous all around. Rippling effects of Conroy making it known to the vets that extensions weren't coming. The one thing Treliving did well was keep his damn mouth shut.

Multiple things can be true at once:

-Zadorov can be one of the few with a high GAF meter
-Zadorov can be a fan-favourite
-Zadaorov/agent can be asking for something the Flames can’t/won’t provide.

I like the player and some of what he brings (don’t like the self-appointed “rover” role he sometimes occupies…especially in the D Zone), but if the Flames can get something for him in a trade (especially during his UFA season and the Flames’ “retooling” season), I say “make it so”!
