Probably already posted somewhere, but just in case it was missed, Rick Dhaliwal reported on Twitter that the Canucks are making a strong push for Zadorov.
Being a division rival, they would have to overpay, but I am sure they know that.

Its gonna be kinda ironic when these guys are UFA looking for their big paydays and the Flames are one of the only teams in the league with cap space next summer

Zadorov seemed to want to be here too. Until whatever is going on now.
I have no issue with threads around people who want to be here and leave because they get jerked around here, give up on it, and find success elsewhere

Not a good look when the Flames have guys publicly requesting trades. Could impact how players feel about coming here.

The guys requesting trades wanted retirement contracts and we are fresh out
Zadorov and Toffoli could have been signed

Imagine if a bunch of players on the Pens all asking for trades. It is a bad look.

It is a stupid opportunist play by his agent and as much as I enjoy watching him, he's not worth top 3 minutes. He's just a smart stay at home player that's surprisingly mobile for his size because he's rarely out of position, and he occasionally hits hard and passes the puck well. At best he's a number 3. But he'd look great on any cup contender, similar to Gudas' role.
Even reading between the lines here, there's the obvious question of inequality based on his ice time, but I think it's more than that. He's questioned the culture a couple times now, and I tend to think he's right. Numbers can kinda say one thing but Kadri has played pretty soft since getting his big deal. Huberdeau got paid bigtime but can't find his game at all. Both got rewarded with handsome contracts and have not had their feet to the fire this year. That's gotta bother some players because they're getting ice time and are totally soft. Z is playing hard and perhaps not getting enough ice time where Tanev this year should probably be getting a bit less too. All in all, just seems like a team that isn't playing hard, and the only vet who is, feels like he's getting shafted, that's all. In a contract year, I see how he wants to stand out more, so I understand his frustration.
On one hand, great you're going to be selling high, but with three d going to be dealt (Tanev, Hanifin, Zadorov), I'm a bit worried that the deals won't be purely for picks as Conroy has to still field a team. Tanev and Hanifin absolutely have to be dealt for a 1st at minimum. Zadorov I don't know what his value is (I think a 2nd and a 3rd?), but given the timing do they have to bring back a defenceman for him?

Respect the guy and I’ve found his openness to speaking his mind refreshing.
He makes some big plays and is fun to watch but has some huge warts to his game. Just no real foot speed to get back.
I’m fine with him leaving but wish it was handled differently

Toffoli and Zadorov both had interest in being here long-term. At least there’s interest in being in Calgary, even if management has other ideas.

Considering the contracts the team already has that’s taking up most of the cap space, they can have fun trying to get top dollar somewhere else

He’s recently been recorded as one of the fastest defensemen in the league and he hit the highest speed of anyone on the team. He definitely has warts though but foot speed isn’t one.

I think everything aligned for this team go to rebuild. Sell high most of the veterans and keep and bring in young players and draft picks.
I like Zadorov but he will not happy in rebuilding team.
Sell Weegar, Tanev, Hanifin for picks and salary dump with short term. Try to sell Markstrom and Kadri with some salary retention.

Yeah, I remember when Tanguay was traded it was revealed he had asked for a trade but him and the team kept it quiet.
I respected him for not wanting to make it public and causing a distraction even though everyone knew there was a good chance Zadorov would be traded anyway.

I think Canucks needs Tanev. I hope Zadorov goes to the east. May be NJ or Det?

Kadri's the guy I'm most interested in dealing. I don't care what anyone says, he's cashed and loafting. He could have value to a team considering everyone in the hockey world wants an agitator. It may take some retention to do it but someone would want him enough where with some retention we could bring back some value. The Islanders seem like a good fit there.
As for Markstrom, I think his confidence is shot and he's done. Insiders really think he's still elite which is a headscratcher but works in our favour for getting value back. I'd push for Edmonton to get him considering his NMC and Edmonton's closeness could help to him waiving, not to mention if it ultimately doesn't work out there the Edmonton pick could be valuable. No way I touch Campbell's contract, but I imagine Campbell could be a good guy to mentor Wolf, as he isn't selfish. Would be nice to get out of Markstrom's contract, even if it means taking on another bad one (only if a lesser term, bad one).

I'd also add that some of the current bottom standing teams really have a lot of pressure to contend. Great year to maximize value by projecting how some of these teams would fare over the course of the full season. Pittsburgh, Columbus, Ottawa in the East, Arizona, Seattle, Edmonton in the West, all have varying levels to get it done or make progress this year. No doubt Conroy has some of the offers and knows what teams can offer. Now they should be making projects for who gives the highest picks in the upcoming or future drafts. Could be very interesting.
