Maybe the Sharks are ready to go full California Golden Seals and trade their first unprotected for Wolf if he has a good game?

Excited for Wolf, happy that they finally called him up.

The only reasons Wolf needs to be up full time:
- He earns it in the NHL
- They trade Vladar or Markstrom
Neither has happened yet, and there’s no reason not to send him back down if neither does.

But he hasn't and you are clearly just an apologist for him. Not only did he suck in that playoff series, he historically sucked! lol
Name one good game he has had against the Oilers in the past 3 years even. It's clear he has a case of the yips against the Oiler and god damn is it ugly.
|
Didn't suggest that at all.
And I'm not an apologist at all. I don't have favourites and I don't have whipping boys.
My season isn't just the Oilers, thanks.

Isn't that the theme of this year anyways..a youth movement? So far it's panned out pretty nicely for them.
|
Do you honestly believe this and that Wolf won't be on this roster full-time as soon as next season? Forever? If you agree he will be on the team next season, why use this as an argument?

I doubt Vladar is worth much. Guy probably has as much trade value as Brossoit? Anything higher than a 4th would a steal at this point IMO.

Well mine is. With all the coworkers I know and relatives from Edmonton who are Oiler fans they can suck it. Sometimes an Oilers loss is better than a Flames win.
You know you have a 25,000(combined) post thread in here trash talking the No Goods right? I'm wildly guessing but I'm pretty sure a lot of us in here hate the Oilerz..

One doesn't need to frame things when they are actually 20% higher.
xGA last year / xGA this year is 1.2 or 20%.
Trying to ignore that is framing something.
Expected goals are 20% higher.
High danger chances against per 60 are 18.5% higher.
Those are facts.
That's 2.5-3 goals in a ten game segment for a goaltender.

and last year was even more hilarious. You have Timbit posting "yeah all you markstrom haters can suck it" early in the 3rd period and boom we end up losing the game by 2. It happened like 2 or times! lol
|
I was all over Markstrom in my game stories last year ... go read a few you won't see me defending the guy at all.
This year he's been better.
I'm able to admit that because I don't carry an individual player grudge from season to season.

So now you're suggesting I don't hate the Oilers because I don't assess the team's number one goaltender only on his games against Edmonton?
That's quite the leap.

To a lesser degree the Flames are more or less doing this in goal with Wolf right now.
#### or get off the pot.

That's a bit of a stretch for an analogy. Maybe it would make more sense if McDavid was selected 4th last in his draft year because he was missing a component that most NHL executives believed at that time was essential to a player's success at the NHL level. Like skating or scoring or, more appropriately, the size to effectively compete in the NHL. And played a position that wasn't expected to be on the ice for 60 minutes per game.

well you have one of the worst goalies against the Oilers in Flames history since Reggie Lemelin. The Oilers is by far our biggest rival. Our idiot coaches keep starting this all time worst goalie against the Oilers. What's the only solution. You get rid of him.
I mean as soon as they announced Marky against the Oilers in the Heritage Classic I didn't even bother watching.

GOAT!
|
Forget about high-dangers... Markstrom is 48th in the NHL this season on low-dangers (which represent the majority of shots and saves). He's actually saved 1.7% less low-danger shots than what an average NHL goalie would be expected to save.
Those are the backbreakers. Those are the goals that drag a team down.
PS: Shoutout to Vladar for being the only goalie in the NHL who has played at least 3 games this season and has yet to be beaten by a high-danger shot!

Yet you are here arguing and insulting me because I said he played well in that game lol
#### right off
I have been a HARSH critic of the goaltending the last two seasons but can admit when a guy plays well
HD were 19-4 and they lost 4-2 (EN)
it wasn't a goaltending loss...Markstom prevented an absolute laugher

So proud of you man! That'll show them!
And you can be that laser focused if you want be, for sure.
But overall Markstrom has been quite good this season ... including the game against Edmonton, which is where I'll place my focus.
