Walsh must have flown out pretty late after the game, did anyone catch Huberdeau with his phone on the bench to text Walsh to set up this meeting?
Isn't Walsh based in the eastern us? Thats some crazy flights to catch.

That's why he was head down on the bench, was doing a facetime with his agent In this day and age it could all be on Zoom but better if he came in person.

? Not sure if serious.
Because of the 2 hour time difference, you can catch a 6am flight in NYC and be in a meeting in Calgary for 9-10 local time pretty reliably.

He didn't say it was an in person meeting. A lot of businesses use online meeting software these days.

If the Flames move Huderdeau they will need to take a cap hit in return.

There is no such flight. Walsh was probably on Zoom.

Something of this magnitude should require a face to face? Especially if the agent and cancer in the room Huberdeau requested it?
I guess teams, zoom, webex you can still get on. I would think the agent and player would want to discuss things in person before going into a meeting like this.

Hopefully with some term relief, otherwise we might as well just roll the dice on Huberdeau.
Whoever came up with the Gallagher and Anderson idea had me considering that one.

Why would Jonathan want to go to the Habs? That’s like Calgary on steroids when you’re a French Canadian.

He wouldn't, he's even said as much.

The part of the discussion I'm responding to is about mutually terminating Huberdeau's contract; not a trade.

Those two have three years left on their deals after this one vs. Huberdeau's seven. It's not even close.

Funny posters are making him out to be James Neal here, who they couldn't wait to get out of the locker room.
Last night a teammate went out of his way to tell reporters that they didn't catch certain things he was doing the bench on camera.
Does that sound like a cancer in the room?
Agents calling GM's is nothing new Treliving said it happens all the time for various reasons.

Ya the cancer in the room stuff is unfair. Players seem to love the guy, he has an A on his sweater, Dube was singing his praises today. These guys are professionals and have succeeded in a team environment for their whole life, there are very very few “cancers” in the NHL.

They would have to be insane to agree to mutually terminate one of the biggest contracts in the league. I guess if the player was really upstanding and felt like he wasn't living up to it, he could choose to leave all the money at the table. The agent would have to give up his huge commissions too. I don't think any player has ever done that although Lucic did say he considered hanging up his skates early when he was depressed in Edm/Cgy.

But if Huberdeau regains is form, that is a steal of a deal for Montreal.

Shut up Allan. Sit back and stare at your bank account for the next 8 years. Let the hockey player and the hockey management sort out hockey stuff.
