I wonder if Tomasino could be had cheap? Seems to have fallen out of favour in Nashville. Has only played 5 out of 9 games, and they sent him down last year, too.
They are playing waiver pickups like Foudy and Fagemo ahead of him.

Nylander could easily have 90+ pts this year. No one on the Flames is landing him. Even if Toronto is tight to the cap they're not just giving him away for our scraps. I don't think he's a smart add anyways. Flames should be tearing the team down and loading up with prospects and picks. Makes no sense to trade for a guy who you just waste 2/3 of his contract playing meaningless hockey.

I think that tomasino is still liked by Nashville, but they are a year ahead of calgary on a good rebuild strategy. They sold, opened spots, and are giving shots to players from other organizations they felt were not properly utilized.
Tomasino is just waiver exempt until they see if fagemo or foudy can stick. Nashville, smart.

Spoke with a member of management in the Sharks organization tonight. A name to look out for at the trade deadline is Tomas Hertl. They would honor the request if he asked to be traded to a contender.

Funny you bring this up, I was coming to in to talk about Tomasino, as I noticed the same things yesterday. I like this player, and I believe he has a bright future. Unlike somebody like Morgan Frost- who we discussed in here a few days ago- I see Tomasino as being a guy who's not afraid to get to the net, and will go to the greasy areas and compete. Good work ethic, excellent speed, and a great shooter. There must be a reason why he's not getting proper ice-time though....

Could see the Rangers making a play for him.

Don't see it with Trochek already as the 2C. What about Boston? Get another Czech line going in Zacha, Pasta, and Hertl.

Washington announced Backstrom is stepping away due to injuries. I wonder if this becomes a realistic target for Lindholm?

I doubt it, but stranger things have happened. The Islanders did give up a good bit for Bo Horvat, which is what I'd be looking at in a deal with Washington.
2024 pick (top 3 protected) + McMichael + Mantha (flip at 50% to a contending team)?

Kuznetsov is also likely on the move as soon as this year or next. Which increases the odds of asking for Lindholm.

I don't think Cristall is on the market, but if we had to drop the 1st to a 2nd or even a 3rd to get him I'd absolutely do it. It's a crime he fell so low in the draft. I remember him being one of the prospects I considered with our own 1st.

Hmmm. Never thought of it this way. My first thought was Washington should not be giving up futures because of an aging core. I think you are on to something that ownership will do everything possible for ovi. That said I think Strone has been the Center for ovi this year , not backstrom. I would gladly take a first round pick from them in 2025 draft. They might not bottom out this year but it’s going to be soon.
