This isn’t a good team and they won’t turn it around

Reality check, nobody has signed Toffoli for that contract and he was worth way more than what they got for him.

Vintage 2011 Calgary Flames. Hope they do it right this year and get that lottery pick

I don't even think Sutter yelled much. He would be bag skating these losers into the ground, though. Flames would be on their fifth bag skate under Sutter I bet.

Huska on the other hand is singing kumbaya with the boys. Probably? Honestly I feel for the guy. What a mess. Just don't throw a stick Gulutzan style.

Sutter is an objectively great coach but I don't care if you are the best coach in the world - you cant treat people (primarily support staff) the way he did and remain employed

The only differences are (1) taffoli and (2) Sutter

At what point is it not too early to say, (1) they have had a super easy relative strength schedule (2) they suck much more than last year and (3) it's pretty much the same team as last year except Sutter

Like okay...they won't finish with 45 points. But they're not finishing with anywhere near 93.

Romanticizing Sutter because of the start is ridiculous.

Him staying might be better than a Huska-run team. But it's marginal. And there'd be a distinct possibility of ending up in no man's land again with the worst lottery odds, which is the worst place for a team to end up.

I don't miss being embarrassed by the coach's antisocial behavior and NFG attitude towards the hardworking staff.

Because if the flames alleged offer to Lindholm is still on the table, it's significantly more than he's going to get on the open market. I'm not saying Lindholm isn't competitive, but he doesn't strike me as a "winning above all" kind of guy that is chasing wins over money.

Your take is kinda changing...at first you were saying they should have kept him because he wanted to stay and he's lighting it up

Players like Hall were being given away in the summer

Even if its a "bad trade" it was better than signing him. Third round pick is unknown

I’m fine with the Flames tanking and entering a rebuild even if it’s one they’re basically forced to enter, but can y’all just enjoy that at least? Enjoy losing! The prattling on about Sutter and Toffoli is obnoxious, especially if you’re just going to make up reasons why the former got fired and context around the trade of the latter.

If they continue this pace they will be a very different roster by years end. I just can't imagine which of these games they would have won with Sutter behind the bench. The score 2 or less a game, its a 3-2 league

This is much better. 31st in the league.

What support staff are we talking about here? can you name the support staff positions he treated poorly by ignoring or being condescending towards them? Are we talking about people like nutritionists and team doctors and massage therapists?

Or are we talking about the various coaches that are still around and playing a bigger role in this now dog #### team?

Yeah I'm glad that the team seems to be forced to rebuild and wouldn't want Sutter back to steer this ship. It's just interesting to see what he was correct on hockey wise after everything seemed to be pinned on him on the ice as well as off.
