My guess is it's all for show so people don't just stay home en masse tomorrow.

They'll play up the idea that he might make the heroic comeback, then they'll announce just before the start of the game that he won't be playing -- then he'll miss another 3 to 4 weeks.


It's like when Gio was hurt just prior to the trade deadline in 2015 and they had him participate in the warm-ups against the Islanders just so other teams wouldn't know he was done for the season and try to take advantage of the Flames in a trade.

If there's one thing the Flames should get credit for, it's for being able to find and develop talent within their organization and turn them into decent players with lengthy careers. Meanwhile the last player the Oilers developed into being an all-star level player was probably Hemsky 20 years ago..

I feel bad for Skinner who Stuart Skinner, who may have developed into a starting goalie given the right opportunity. Meanwhile he's languishing in Edmonton, and is already being thrown out of town.

Who’s throwing him out of town?

I’m going to the game tomorrow. Hope both teams get some passion back. Pretty disappointing season so far for both clubs I’d say. At least one team will have a win tomorrow.
