The players obviously discussed their effort and execution already prior to playing the Blues and still came out with the actual worst effort of the season. Huska had to literally bench Huberdeau in the 2nd period, he was playing so poorly.

Multiple guys already acknowledged they need to play better, execute better and look at their game in the mirror. Still brought their very worst the very next game.

Interviews and comments are worthless unless they show it. I'd bet the vast, VAST majority of people on CP would be completely fine and satisfied even if the Flames lost tomorrow but came out with a full 60-minute effort and just got beat by the other team being able to execute better, despite it coming against their biggest rival. The aggravation is hearing the words but seeing the actual lack of effort and inability to bear down.
