At what point will the NHL be able to afford to put multiple cameras in the crossbar? I'm sure that I could retrofit a net with crap off of amazon for less than $1000. It has been Almost 20 years since the Gelinas goal. The fact that they haven't addressed this yet is frankly embarrassing

Why not under the ice, in the posts and a sensor in the puck?
I love Zadorov so much. Squarely speaking physicality, he's easily the meanest checking defenseman we've had since Dion and I think Z is way more positionally sound in his own end. Keep him around for a few years Conny.
Why did Jared Bedar not like Zadorov? I don't get it.

Can they see through equipment? If not, then pretty much nothing is solved. Except the odd, obvious, completely visible from above pucks.

I would say for a good portion of his time with the Avs, Zadorov was still a big awkward kid who hadn't completely become a reliable NHLer yet. He had flashes and was as physical as ever, Avs fans still like him in hindsight, but he was way more prone to clumsy mistakes than he is now.
I think some folks think the record should be better than it is and thats why there was some frustration around here.
I personally think it's a great start and an amazing opportunity to move to 3-1-1 against CBJ tomorrow.
I think the record is fine it is the play that isn't very good.
So if you are on the get in and anything can happen boat than picking up these points are a positive. If you are in the this team is mediocre and not competing for anything boat (and yes I know these are very simplified groupings) than the lackluster performances have given you a lot to be concerned about.
The team has ground out points in games they haven't played well in, they have taken advantage of some bad teams and a terrible goalie tonight. That is good to get points to try and get a WC but long term playing this poorly doesn't seem like a likely way to have much success.

Yeah i can see a myriad of issues.
I may be wrong but how well would a piece of electronics work through a couple inches of ice?
Also, anytime something underneath the ice service failed, would it not require "melting" the entire surface to replace, and then a re-freeze? Thats a process that would require days each, and thats only if the building had no events scheduled during that time and at a big $$$ cost.
I get it that last nights example was probably in, and there just wasn't an angle that showed anything conclusively, but really how often does that happen? 2 or 3 times a season league wide?....Maybe?
