Sounds like it could be an automatic fintrac investigation then. It'll probably take a few extra days than normal but it'll clear.

Even as a musician and live music lover, I mostly can't stand live bar music. As stated, most bars aren't big enough/set up for traditional, acoustic drums, which 90% of live bands use.

The drums just crater everyone's ear drums and then the guitars and vocals have to come up to that. It's awful. Even when they play well, and have good catchy set lists that dreaded "BOOMM BOPPPPP BBOOMMM BBOPPPP" of the bass and snare drum just wrecks everything.

Kingshead is a perfect example. Should be the perfect live music venue, but then you're in there and it turns into "hey everyone, the drums have taken over, please wait for an intermission to speak to one another".

I'm not going to yell over your beats about what I've been up to lately or have on the go, either turn it down a shade or let's just start chugging and turn this into the college-style rager you apparently want.
Went to a Sikh wedding in August, which started with a big party the day before the ceremony. Food was great, and it was fun watching the different traditions, but as soon as they were done they started blasting their music at ear damaging levels for the dancing, and it went on all night. Same thing for the reception a few days later, ear shattering volume for the music as soon as the speeches were done. We couldn't stick around for more than half an hour in either case because my kids were crying that their ears hurt. Really sucked too, because there was family I hadn't seen in a long time that I would have loved to catch up with but it was impossible to have any sort of conversation

Well I asked my client who works for Fintrac...and they are watching you. Like a Hawk.

Tread lightly.

Ear plugs are key, they help so much. Not the ####ty foam ones, but some nicer reusable insert ones.

I bought a car a few years ago for 10.5 G's cash.

Freaked the guy out when I started counting it out on his kitchen table.

What will I tell the bank when I go to deposit it he said...

"That you sold a car ??" I was kinda confused at the question.

On a separate occasion my bank wanted to put a hold on a certified back draft from another institution I had drawn to ay contractors for some work.

What was the point of paying for a certified draft if it is going to be held anyways. After asking for the manager (I know Karen stuff...LOL) they agreed to process it so I could clear some bills.

Banks man... I tell ya !

Cash is fine though. I’ve deposited large sums without issue. Personal cheques I tell ya.. it’s 2023!

It's been a while, but in the past with personal cheques, I've gone to the issuing branch and either cashed it there (assuming they have the cash on hand), or had them certify it, which they usually wave the fee for... Kind of a pain, but can help speed the process if that's a priority. Seems more odd in your case considering it's the same institution.

I was at James Joyce on Friday and there was some dude playing an acoustic guitar by himself. It was amplified to the perfect volume so you could still socialize, but it also gave a great vibe as he played upbeat alternative music and totally killed it (versus croony too-mellow acoustic coffee-shop-type stuff). It actually added everything to the fun of the night without dominating or taking over - no drums are key in a bar. Or maybe if drummers played with brushes or whatever. Last thing I want is the live music cranked to 11 when I just want to hang out with my friends.

Having said that, was anybody else there? This guy ruled and I want to see him again. Said he also plays in a TOOL cover band if that helps.

Yep, brutal. I always put a little background music on with the intention being that, if there is conversation going on you can't really hear it, but if the conversation stops it's there to fill in the awkward silence. Any louder than that is too loud for a hangout.

See that is fine, the music should be heard if you want to hear it, but not overpowering your conversation with mates.

The more I drink the funnier I get, I shouldn't have to shout to entertain my mates.

Haha exactly. And I don't get the fun in going out with your buddies to the pub just so you can sit there in complete silence having your eardrums caved in watching some C rate cover of 5000 Miles. I've got anecdotes to tell!

Yeah certain genres are fine, I actually loved it for St. Paddy's Day. But yeah once an electric guitar or drums makes an appearance, get outta here. This is an Irish pub sir, not one of your swing joints..

Banks are the worst and I think its because they only hire idiots and have stupid rules.

First of all, your guy has a bill of sale for a car. This is not rocket science. Yes the bank has to fill out a form for a deposit over $10K. He's has a bill of sale, its got a sale price on it and a VIN, literally no problems.

I've had the same problem with a Certified Bank Draft.

"We're going to have to hold this!"

No.

The issuing Bank has literally certified that this money is in the account and now tied to this draft, thats why its called a 'Certified Bank Draft' and not 'regular cheque.' Give me the money you clown.

This is me when I'm driving around. I switch songs constantly, and I know that's incredibly annoying to everyone else, so I only do this when I'm alone.
