They may be our best band, though, really. Especially because most people like them across all genres. Country guys, rock guys, alternative guys, young and old...you can put on some of their bangers and all people will enjoy. That's gotta be pretty tough to pull off.
Is Celion Dion bigger? Michael Bublé? Justin Beiber? I mean, there are "bigger" acts out there, but none of those people really resonate outside of their genre. Hip do transcend all genres, so there's that.
The reverence for them is a bit much, though, IMO.

I'd say RUSH is the best band in Canadian history. No doubt about it, in my mind.

I'd rather listen to Kim Mitchell than Rush and I can't stand Kim Mitchell.

Rush overrated, Tragically Hip. Bla bla, music itself is overrated. Come at me.
Everyone I know feels the need to blast their own #### at events so you can barely hear anyone. Everyone has a fantasy that someone will hear this new thing they like and agree and you talk about that band all night, passing on info about this new band, Never happens.
Have one buddy that needs to have a massive sound system at every stupid event. Houseboating was a nightmare. Smuggling on giant concert level speakers then the RCMP badgering us constantly and he was the only one who wanted it. He pioneered golfing with music blaring. Just awful.
The only good thing about country is that people are way less likely to blare it. You can suitably ignore it.

Has anybody ever tried to take a Michael Meyers mask and turn it back into Capt Kirk?

How long does a cheque generally take to clear? It’s been a long while since I deposited one and it’s still being “held”. Personal cheque from someone who uses the same bank as me if that matters.

How much is the cheque? Is it enough to trigger a fintrac investigation/due diligence?

Agreed. I like music - who doesn't - but I don't get people who NEED music going all the time, and have it way too loud. Also, people hosting a gathering who don't know what conversation-level music is supposed to be set at when they clearly want to have a chat. Just had that on Sunday.
I'm not going to yell over your beats about what I've been up to lately or have on the go, either turn it down a shade or let's just start chugging and turn this into the college-style rager you apparently want.

Don't even get me started about live bands at pubs...the acoustics aren't meant for it at all (for certain genres), it's borderline unbearable depending on the venue size.
I think part of the problem is people obsessed with music have experienced a fair amount of hearing loss from it by this point of their lives. Whereas I haven't to the same level, so it's way louder for me.

Well it’s above the $10,000 mark (is that the level?). It’s from the proceeds of selling my grandparents vehicle.

I Rose & Crown used to have bands ####ing awesome.
In fact, I think the Rose was better before it had the renovations done.
