I unintentionally attended the SF Giants pride night and it was a blast. Everyone had a lot of fun and they sold tons of rainbow logo merch.
Bettman somehow makes Manfred look like a competent commissioner.

Because they were persecuted for years for following what came natural to them. Do you feel the same way about other movements too? Are you against recognizing black history month too? It really shouldn't be a big deal to you personally regardless of if you support it or not unless you have hatred toward this movement.

Yeah. The gays are the ones who’ve set up specific “therapies” to convert people to a different sexual orientation.
Straight people are so persecuted. It’s not easy being able to hold hands with your spouse while walking down the road or give them a kiss in public. It’s a tough life. I sympathize with the challenges that the straight community have and respect their right to exist but why do they always have to shove it in my face?

Hey, I was at that game too. Giants got blasted by the cubs but the free jersey was pretty sweet. It was a fun time.

Pretty sad that the NHL would set this as its standard. Just goes to show how much more work is required to dismantle prejudice and stigmas. Honestly, I don't understand the decision as it's been made clear that the league is not trying to restrict or influence individual beliefs. The entire focus is on the fact that everyone is welcome regardless of sexual orientation. This is so simple and does not infringe on a players personal beliefs or religious affiliations.
Brian Burke said it best "I repeat that I am extremely disappointed, I wish players would understand that the pride sweaters are about inclusion and welcoming everybody. A player wearing pride colors or tape isn't endorsing a set of values or enlisting in cause. He is saying you are welcome here, and you are in every single NHL building."
You would think that everyone could rally behind that simple message. Pretty pathetic that the league can't endorse that in 2023...
