Flames have made more than a fair offer to Elias. Big dog isn't pleased with the communication from the players representatives. Flames considering taking the ball and going home.

Like I said I'm not trusting this information currently but it's what I've herd.

Well if the rumour of him not budging from $9.3 million is true, then yes take ball and go home.

9.3 is fine on a 6 year deal.

Where’s Rasta-Masta when we need him. He needs to break the tie!

Apparently Columbus really wants to make some cap room and move a d man.
I wonder if a Lindholm play is still possible.

Bean + marchenko + Sillinger for Lindy retained could save them money, make room on their D core, and bolster their centre position greatly.

Doesn't include a 1st round pick, which would be ammo for Tij Iginla.

Can't do it!

What about me?

I have heard that a signing may or may not happen sometime within the next 1-200 days.

Is it cap room they are after? They currently have more than $3M with a full 23 man roster. I think they want to make room for a prospect Dman to make the roster and will ship someone out to make it happen. I just saw the tweet that they wanted to move a Dman but perhaps you have info that it relates to creating cap room?

Flames are a dollar in dollar out team so if space is what they are after not the right deal but if they want a top C they have the pieces and cap flexibility to make it work

The Big Dog is the Saint Bernard in the Alps?

or the Big Dog as the Golden Retriever bred in Upstate NY?

Was just curious what is your number?

If Lindholm wants 9.3 M, I think that is too much and agree with you.

At what number would I say yes? Depends on the length but at 8 years, anything over $7.5 million is excessive. But I also know that isn't realistic.

The organization should simply avoid re-signing a player to a contract that immediately becomes an immovable object.

You could move him at 8.5 easily
Horvat got a decent return and everyone knew his contract demands

Top players will be making 15-16 soon

I don't think Lindholm is a top player or anywhere close to it so it's hard to gauge what his value relative to the highest paid players in the league.

I just think that's his value right now and even then, I think it's likely that becomes a contract this team quickly regrets. There's no surplus value there for the team - only deficit - on a team loaded with deficit contracts.
