I am not pro or con of this move, I know nothing about A.J. Greer...but why would you Mic Up a guy who is going to spend most of the game on the bench?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I love how not knowing about someone or something isn’t an impediment to having an opinion about someone or something…and vociferously defending that uninformed opinion.
Love how everyone jumps to that conclusion, of not being informed. Big guy, can skate, plays tough, but no offensive upside. Would everyone be pumped about brining Brett Ritchie back? That about the closest comparison most fans would understand.

I actually thought Ritchie was pretty good last year. Especially at the start of the year. Yeah I would be happy to have him back as the 12th/13th forward. I don't think I would be happy if we had more than 1 such player in the game roster at a time.
As long as he has good wheels isn't a liability defensively and doesn't take stupid selfish penalties and is a good human being.....I'm okay with this.
I don't want a knuckle dragging temper tantrum waiting to happen on this team. And it's this simple...Huska doesn't dress him if he pulls any crap.
I want the scouts to be right and if he's got wheels and can forecheck
And be a Hathaway comparison I'm sold. That's a guy I wish we had have kept .

I like this move. With waivers, it isn't going to be a home-run hit of course, but this definitely upgrades the Flames on the 4th line, and adds some physicality to a team that I think really needs some.
With that being said, this isn't a Lucic replacement. Nobody is going to be scared of him. I look at this more like a Brett Ritchie replacement - great on the forecheck, sticks up for his teammates, and gives 100% on every shift Better puck skills too. Bringing in Klapka would probably make him feel like he needs to be the policeman out there, and I don't think he can do that job. Greer at least is a veteran who knows how to pick his spots better.
Sounds like us fans will really start liking him as the season progresses. Seems like one of those 'heart and soul' type of guys that are welcome on any team.

Well then you gotta take that up with Conroy. Because that would be Huska's call and Conroy picked Huska and then we're back on the 'Treliving s### Coaching Train' all over again.

The only reason to bitch would be for the lost opportunity in picking up a different player on waivers. So if you’re bitching, let us know who you’d have picked up instead so you can properly remind us in 6 months.
Greer seems like he’ll be solid enough. Held down a regular spot on the best team of the cap era, don’t see why he couldn’t bring value here. Maybe I would have rather gambled on Lavoie but at that point it would have been better to just keep Zary up. Greer is basically a plug and play finished product guy versus some of the younger players that might still have potential.
