Not quite but super close. That said hardly anyone drafted after Zary has played as of yet. It would be great to get him in some action this season and with injuries it should happen
I found the tweet and it mentions he is the last forward picked between 1-28 to not play so less dramatic than only player not picked in the 1st round to not play

Wherever you read it, it's not true. There are 5 others (2 ahead of him, 3 behind him).

I hope he never makes the NHL, especially as a regular. I would butcher the spelling and pronunciation of that name so badly... but if he changed his name to something like Sam Moore.... I can say/spell that... I'd support him!

That's not even true. Amirov and Mukhamadhullin were picked ahead of him.

Also Askirirov only played one game so meh.

We're not even going to make it out of pre-season...they're dropping like flies!

Rooney couldn't even make it out of a skate with the main group

They could pick up a $3-4M contract right now (assuming there was anyone available)
I was hoping the team could get under the cap to accrue cap space, but if they have to go into LTIR, might as well go into it as much as possible and hopefully add a player.

Maybe the Flames could even be the team to take Joseph from Ottawa so they can sign Pinto. The rumoured asking price is a 1st rounder. It assumes of course that the Flames would agree to spend above the cap on salaries.

I don't know anything about Joseph but looking at his stat line, how would this guy be worth a 1st rounder? Especially, when you'd be doing Ottawa a favor?

I mean the sweetener for Ottawa to rid themselves of the contract is a 1st round and/or high prospect. Kind of like when we traded Monahan.

Sorry, I know I could have said it clearer.

Calgary would get Joseph and a 1st rounder, not give one up.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

If we are going to use LTIR, just offer sheet Pinto instead.

Nah, he explodes if you hit him from behind.

I think they view Zary as the first callup for a top 9 role and that schwindt or hunt make more sense as the 4C? I’m not too concerned by this, if anything it’s probably the right move to start. And we don’t even know if this is true, it’s just speculation based on what we’ve seen so far

Amirov has unfortunately passed away and Mukhamadhullin is a D, so it's true.

With Rooney out, then you can't bury $1.15mm in the minors.

Any cap experts around? Can we take on a $3.8mm player at the start of the year if we put Kylington and Rooney on LTIR?
