opinion perhaps, but you'll never convince me it's as good of a movie as Airplane!
not in a million years would I put D&D even close to the same level, let alone higher.

I couldn't stop laughing when I first watched Airplane!. Then it was ruined for me when I watched it many years later with my wife who did not find it funny and I suddenly felt stupid laughing at all of the jokes. Then my love for it revived when I watched Airport 75 recently, a movie I had seen as a young boy, but never made the connection to Airplane! It makes sense in hindsight - Airplane! was a spoof of *something* - but not getting that reveal until much later was really delightful.

Leslie Neilson's silly comedy roles sure color how you view his earlier stuff.
I remember watching The original Poseiden Adventure. When I saw he was the captain, I instantly expected something silly to happen. So odd to see him play it straight.
Recently experienced Perfect Days at the Calgary International Film Fest. It may not be available for wider distribution for a while but when it is I highly recommend it. I haven't been able to get it out of my head for over a week.
Warning: It's not for those with ADHD or need to have an explosion, car chase or boobies to enjoy a movie.
They call Airplane! "Flying High" in Australia for some reason. Definitely one of the best spoofs.
My favourite spoofs are Weird Al, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and What we Do in the Shadows. Others I like are Naked Gun, Scary Movie, and Not Another Teen Movie.

That Reptile movie with Benicio Del Toro was decent. Not amazing but im not mad I watched it. Gotta accept some pretty giant plot holes but that seems to be the norm nowadays
There's definitely some arguing to be had about this (Walk Hard for example should be leagues higher than #76), but a pretty good list if you ignore the actual rankings.
Watched The Body, a Spanish movie from 2012. Was very impressed with it. Great story, lots of twists and turns, nice settings. Good whodunnit-style movie.
Parody movies are a fun debate. Mel Brooks' filmography certainly gets recognition, although Brooks' style was more a parody of genres rather than specific movies (although he did the latter with films like High Anxiety and Spaceballs).
I would put Airplane! ahead of Dumb and Dumber as a comedy, but they are awful close. My other favorites would be Slap Shot, Anchorman, Tommy Boy, and Happy Gilmore, with Slap Shot solidly at the top.
On the topic of Airplane!, can we all take a moment to recognize how much Stephen Stucker stole the show in his limited screen time? To this day, every time he describes the plane I almost fall out of my seat.
