I don't think I've ever had less hype going into a season than this year. I was even more fired up for the "peak" Young Gunz years than this year. Such a mess.

That wouldn't be a private, personal matter. It would be phrased that he failed his physical or was unable to complete it, or has had poor results.
At any rate, this doesn't bode well for his career if he misses a second straight training camp.

Yeah my teenage youthful exuberance and optimism helped I'm sure. Those were such dark times that I was literally known as "the Flames fan" in junior high...and I went to school in Calgary.
(everybody knew it because of my slick 90s style Flames Starter jacket, that I really wish I still had)

Mental health is a life long struggle. Hoping him all the best. His road will have lots of ups and downs so this will be something we should expect but wish it was not so.

It really doesn't matter if its physical or mental at this point as long as he can resolve what is happening and resume his life in a happy manner. Hockey is secondary.

I don't think Killington will be the difference between success and failure this year.
The team is 100% better with him, but defence is a position of strength for this team.

Is it? Hanifins on the way out. Tanev is long in the tooth and soul.
Kylington no able to play is a pretty big set back. Oesterle and Gilbert and whomever else has some big shoes to fill .

He's had a year off. If that was the case would he even be back in Camp at all right now?

It'll be interesting how this shapes the Hanifin return. For all he know he is going to stay until the trade deadline.
Even without him the pairing of Andersson and Weegar is top 10 in the NHL. Tanev and Zadorov are both excellent complimentary players who have proven that they elevate their parters game. Tanev especially. Some combination of Gillbert, Osterle Brady, Solovyov and Poirier can rotate the last two spots.
Like I said, the team is better with Kyllington, but not sunk without him.

Yeah if it wasn't related to last year's absence they should have come out and made that abundantly clear.
The way they did it certainly suggests it is likely related.

Ryan Leslie thinks that Lindholm, Hanifin, and Backlund will re-sign with the team. Flame will name a captain "real soon".

Well this is an unfortunate development. Pre season is unduly long to begin with so maybe we see him back before the season starts. Too bad because you have to think he’s already several steps behind.

Is it possible that anxiety is only part of the problem? Maybe it's deeper than that. Everyone was very secretive about it, that it makes me wonder if it was a mix of anxiety and maybe something prescribed for it.
Just a theory. A game theory

Agreed.
These types of situations always put CP in an awkward place of attempting to foster discussion while avoiding the perpetuation of toxic rumour-mongering. We need to be okay in moments like this with not knowing what is going on, and wishing the best for Kylington, and hopefully also the team.
