He's certainly not going to pick up where he left off -- I know that's disappointing to many.

It wasn't drugs. It has been said before it wasn't substance abuse. And OK's interview this summer talks about mental health, he wasn't in the right place, etc.

Could be PEDs. It's a contract year, so I can see the incentive and pressure to perform.
That's strictly speculation, but the whole "private personal matter" makes me think it isn't injury related.

I wonder if Huska asked Lindy if he likes his linemates.

I hope Oliver is ok and we can see him play again at some point. Even if it isn’t in Calgary

I wonder if they had to shuffle the D pairs with him out now and what the plans would have been.

I actually think this will be a great indicator on how long will Kylington be absent.
If Zadorov and Tanev switch groups, then Z can start practicing with Lyle/Gilbert/Oesterle.
If Kylington is only missing a week of camp, they might keep the pairings.

If it’s anxiety based and it’s triggering again I’m not sure how he’s going to make it through a season. I get you have to support your employee. But he’s had a year off and they paid him $2.5 million. At some point he’s got to find something else to do if it’s the same issue.
Hopefully it isn’t. He’s a good player.

Poirier is essentially the Kylington heir apparent. I wonder when he'll be 100%. An opportunity for him.

I'm hoping you're right because otherwise, there are very few injuries that are going to be fine by tomorrow.

I think there are a few young Dmen that could take that spot.

If it’s just a day would they still need to issue a release? Seems a bit alarmist if it’s not something more significant.
Hopefully it’s a minor thing. Big reason for any optimism I have this year taps into his skillset and becoming a faster team with better puck movement from the back end.

Brutal news, hope it's just short-term and he is ok.
I don't think I've ever had less hype going into a season than this year. I was even more fired up for the "peak" Young Gunz years than this year. Such a mess.

It's either alarmist today in the Flames words, or it's alarmist tomorrow when the media brings attention to his absence tomorrow and Twitter gets to define the situation.

If the media caught wind that Kylington wasn't on the ice or participating (and of course they'd notice), and given that Kylington missed an entire year, I can see the Flames wanting to get ahead of this and issuing a statement.

Lots of speculation, wondering if some of those big hits he took his last season is affecting him physically and mentally.

Maybe the press release is a slip up from a new regime? Both Conroy and Huska have spoken a lot about better communication, and I wonder if this extends to greater media transparency?
Otherwise, this has me concerned, and sad for the poor kid who cannot seem to get a break.

They could have just said he was day to day. The way the release is so ambiguous is the worrisome part.
