I think are agreeing with me.

Its a story more because of Babcocks history.

Also everyone views their privacy in different ways. You said you look at it like I respect, I feel more like lets get to know and understand each other before I let you into my life.

How the conversation probably went:

Babcock: "Come on in Boone, how was your summer? Hows the family?"
Jenner: "Good."
Babcock: "Have you been staying in shape?"
Jenner: "Yep."
Backbock: "Do anything fun?"
Jenner: "Yeah, had a vacation with the family."
Babcock: "Sounds good, do you take any pictures I can check out?"
Jenner: "Yeah."
Babcock: "Cool we can bring them up on the big screen here. Looks like a nice vacation and family."
Jenner: "Thanks."

After a game of telephone, it turns into Babcock looking at dick pics.

Considering this story started because a player texted Biz that Babcock was doing something that made them uncomfortable should be the takeaway. The Blue Jackets and the NHL investigating themselves and deeming it not an issue isn't surprising. Some or even most players may not have viewed it as an invasion of privacy or a power move... but obviously some did.

Biz posted a screenshot of the texts and had other players corroborate the claim. Given Babcock's immediate history of abusing his power over his players to play mind games, it's a wild thing to ask his new players to do. If some of these players felt like it was inappropriate, that should absolutely be the takeaway IMO.

Does the bold sound like anything a normal person would say? It doesn't mean searching for dick pics, but it is weird.

Yeah I’m still not sure that corroboration from players that it was nothing also doesn’t mean it could have been uncomfortable for others. Being asked to see a pic of your kids or wife is one thing. Being asked to share your photos to a live TV is different IMO. And there’s always the possibility he made different comments to some players than others.

I think the fact it came out at all shows at least someone found it strange. I would find it strange if my boss did that. And I’d certainly be embarrassed if somehow some hidden or not so hidden photos happened to pop up as you scroll through.

Obviously Commodore texted a Blue Jacket player, asking about their first day with Babcock trying to stir stuff up and get some dirt on Babcock.

Commodore asked Player X if Babcock was asking players to show them pictures (of their families and summer) like Babcock did to him.

Player X says yes, Babcock asked to see pictures.

Commodore texts Biz and tells him Babcock is up to it again. Then they take it off the rails.

When Biz triples down it's clear his texts are from someone like Commodore and not a current Blue Jacket player.

The airplay to the TV thing was clearly coming from Commodore and his past experience not from the current happening.

They're just trying to make Babcock look bad but:

Yeah I don't see why not. For all we know, Boone could have offered to show him as well.

So a player with an axe to grind.

Can’t wait for the season to start so people have other things to focus on beyond the soap opera crap.

I still think the phone thing is weird but it appears that this was totally blown out of proportion by ex-players with axes to grind. I also think it's time that Commodore should just move on and let it go as he's starting to come off as petty. I get that Babcock wronged him but plenty of players have been wronged by head coaches and will continue to as people will always be people and the best course is to move on and not dwell on the negatives and make them a part of your identity.
Yeah...has he actually done anything to remediate his reputation?

Granted, just being a gigantic ass is pretty low on the scale.

Let's not forget scatrching Spezza after he signed with his hometown team when he brought in family and friends to watch his debut.

Mike Modano has 1499 games played because Babcock is a deliberate #######.

Asking “what’s you’re favourite picture from summer” would be a lot different than “let’s check the last 10 pictures on your phone”

Maybe it’s somewhere in between. I don’t trust his intentions either way. Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

He’s apparently using Apple airplay to do this. Like that’s a specific suggestion.

A phone is extremely personal and should be 100% under control by the individual at all times.

I have a feeling this really is quite bad as the details get sorted out.

Unless said player says the same to the PA then it really does mean nothing. Screenshots of texts mean nothing.

So apparently this is something he does? If you know he's going to ask for pictures and you don't go out of your way to photoshop some pictures of you and his wife, that's a huge missed opportunity.

He did take a coaching job at the University of Saskatchewan for a season just to get his kid a job in hockey. Father of the Year has to be good for one's reputation?

You are at the office. Your new boss with a reputation starts today. You get called into his office and to get to know you….he asks to see photos of your summer? Like what? It’s absurd. It’s only palatable because he is in a position of power and these players have to toe the line.

Now do this scenario with a girls volleyball team and the coach wants to see pictures from their phones to get to know them.

As AC said, a player felt uncomfortable. I bet dimes to dollars he wasn’t the only one.

And folks on here are taking swipes at spittin chiclets to show their distain at bro culture. Hilarious.

Wait, it’s weird to ask a 18 year old girl, on a volleyball team, to put her summer pictures on Apple airplay, for her coach and or team to see, with no discretio
