The criteria is some formula of one of the following or certain combination of, and nobody knows the exact answer that I've ever talked to.
It's super grey though. I think these are individually reviewed by a bunch of different people, and I have seen some eyebrow raisers pass, and some other fail. It's very inconsistent. But if you are bringing in a car from Out of Province, just apply for the exemption anyway, it's free and you might get lucky if your on the cusp.
edit: I'll add they required the bill of sale, picture of the odometer, picture of the windshield vin plaque, and picture of the door vin plaque along with the bill of sale.

Thanks, and yeah, I know. My car is 5 years old not 4 though and last inspected one year ago not 90 days.
Eyeroll.

Alberta's Out of Province database has been down since the September long weekend and is expected to be down at least all this week as it was hacked. I work in automotive and we are unable to submit out of province inspections on vehicles coming from our other stores in BC. The fact that customers are now going to have to wait extended periods to register cars they bought, through no fault of their own, is completely ridiculous.

Lol especially in this instance they should be waiving the requirement outright. They should be doing that anyway but especially in this circumstance.

This guy at work sent around a donation link for a charity related to a motorcycle ride for a cause. A bit later he followed up. Fine.
Then the next week he follows up and says “here’s a link for those who may have forgot”.
I almost choked. I’ve been overly irritated by it ever since.

Do you know if it is through Convio? I remember when I did the ride to conquer cancer they used that fro emails, and it really prodded you to send those emails with that wording at various dates approaching the event. He might mindlessly be clicking send, not actually typing it.

Yeah such a shakedown. My broke college kid mid 2000s butt put all this money into my car before moving to BC, the inspection still managed to hit me with another $1,700 worth of work that apparently needed to be done. ICBC still owes me a couple hundred from my time there that I'll never see.
The only good thing is they fixed my steering wheel, it had never turned so smooth post inspection. Fast forward 2 years later when I moved back to Alberta, and the Alberta OOP version of it somehow set the steering wheel back to stiff again and gave me a bill for it, thanks guys...

Hmm I’ll look. He’s pretty blunt so I definitely read it in his normal tone. Probably didn’t help. But he then sent that same email like 4 more times. But like, he’s going for a bike ride like any other weekend. Dial it back.

Concerts that are selling tickets for shows that are over 1 year away. I'm sure some of the more music savvy know more about this, but the first concert I can think of is the upcoming metallica show in Edmonton. Since then even New country acts like Zack Bryan are over a year out as well. Makes me appreciate the smaller $60 metal shows that play at the Palace.
When and why did this change?

It is nice to be able to planning ahead and set up a payment plan in order to be able to see a concert now.

messy gym people RGMG.
Especially gyms that you pay a little extra for and get the towel service. Then some putz' (or plural) just leave them where they drop them around lockers, "missing" the towel bin, sometimes even in the shower stalls, etc... farhkin messy inconsiderate entitled brats. May your showers be sporadically cold with p*ss poor pressure.

drivers that just don't pay attention to their surroundings rgmg
tonight i was heading to band practice and as i approached an intersection the light changed to yellow/red. as i came to a stop i could see a gentleman in a motorized wheelchair at the curb so i stopped well back of the pedestrian crossing to make sure he had lots of room to cross.
the driver beside me was oblivious to everything except his own needs and finally stopped well into the pedestrian crossing. he had time to back up, but i guess tossing his car into reverse for 2 seconds was just too much to ask.
the fellow in the wheel chair definitely gave the driver of the car beside me a piece of his mind (and rightfully so).
i don't know - it's just little things like 'considering others' that can sure go a long way to improving society in general, but i guess that's asking a lot (do i need green text?)
and since i'm sure someone will ask... yea... the car beside me was in fact a bmw. (then there's me being all considerate in my jacked up chevy on 35" tires! ha!)

I bike to work past an intersection that has a vehicle sensor. I love the instant carma that comes with morons stopping on the crosswalk, because the light never changes for them until I show up and hit the beg button.

I go to the office twice a week regularly plus some additional days when necessary for meetings or whatever. I have an office and we have about half a dozen offices that are available as hostelling options for when other people come in from other locations. Either on Friday or Monday someone decided to use my office and I'm a little pissed. They moved my monitors around, they unplugged my earphones from my docking station, they moved my cables around because apparently they didn't like where I usually plug in my laptop and they adjusted my chair.

If you ever find out who it was? Justifiable homicide, IMO.

This is actually a gear grinder of mine, because all of the primo offices with nice windows and lots of sun are barely occupied during the week, but there is nothing set up to allow anyone else to make use of them.

Well judging by traffic this week I would say there are more people coming to the office since September 1 than prior to summer. So some of those windows are getting some use.

Or it's enmax screwing up every road in the core and beltline that's making traffic way worse.
