This sucks. Most of those pitches from Richards weren't even bad.

They just can't stop making things harder on themselves than it should be.

Not to be a downer because the movement in the standings has been favourable. But a 4-2 stretch against awful teams isn't ideal. Need to sweep KC to make this stretch palatable. The great teams go on runs from time to time.

I don't know you're not winning every game, even against bad teams. Yankees just swept the Astros on the road and two games later, Astros find themselves in first place.

Even when they win the offence looks anemic. At least the majority of time. I know they have injuries but they’ve looked anemic pretty much all season.
It’s a problem.

0 for 12 from Springer, Vladdy and Whit. $44 million of salary contributing zero.

It's pretty much what you'd expect - both those awful teams win about 1/3 games on average.
Ideally you'd go 5-1 there but 4-2 isn't the end of the world.

The bottom feeding teams play each other though, so some of their wins are also against bottom feeders. So while you're right 4-2 isn't the end of the world, if you want to be a playoff team you have to beat teams more than they lose on average.

Winning 55% of your games means you're a playoff team. So taking 2 of 3 on the road from a bad team is just fine.
This is baseball, you can't get down after every loss.

Yup, Jays just have to outplay the Rangers now down the stretch and the next 2 series are another bottom feeder in KC and then a series against the Rangers. They control their own destiny.

Definitely. The combination of their games against the Rangers and the AL west contenders playing each other mean they absolutely control their own destiny here.
I don't love having the last 4 series against AL east teams given how that has gone, but the Yankees should be playing out the string by then.

Agreed.
People also seem to be forgetting that we are missing Bo, Chapman and Jansen too.
That's our top two fWAR position players and 2.0 fWAR catcher. Three out of our top six fWAR players this season.
EDIT: Also missing Belt, another 2.0 fWAR player and that makes four out of the top six out.

Outplaying the Rangers shouldn't be hard. I don't see them bouncing back from that series against the Astros. We're witnessing a classic collapse.

Yes, Schneider has made some mistakes, but to me anyway, he seems to have the right relationship with the players and in baseball, I think that is #1. Ball players spend more time than any other sport together so it's important to have someone who is relatable to the players.

People didn't necessarily want Schneider hired, they just wanted them to finally move on from Montoyo and were willing to give him a chance the rest of the season to see what he could do. Many were disappointed they didn't hire someone else that was more proven.
Like Montoyo, he's a nice guy but he's over his head. Just like Geoff Ward with the Flames who was another guy who should have never been extended after taking over the job on a interim basis.
