It's time! Kinda confusing messaging thoguh. If someone puts their hazards on, that's technically flashing lights but the law wouldn't apply.

I differentiate between flashing and blinking.

Flashing is an fast, irregular pattern, such as an emergency vehicle light bar.
Blinking is a slower, regular pattern of on-off, on-off... the way human eyes blink; open, shut, open, both eyes simultaneously.

That's why a lot of them give out "free" smart thermostats, so they can do just that.

New @FERC rule could lead to a massive change in America’s energy grid:

2,000 GW (2 TW) of solar, wind, and battery projects waiting in the U.S. connection queue

Under new rule, projects will be studied in groups rather than individually

Jason Markusoff

While Alberta slams brakes, US solar/wind regulation floors it.

So apparently the power grid is running into grid alerts during daytime hours and we need more energy in the province according to Danielle Smith. This is only going to get worse with climate change in the coming years and the UCP killing $33B in clean energy and geothermal investment in the province is surely going to help the situation. The $20B we paid oil companies to clean up wells they were legally obliged to + $2B for the pipeline will totally add more capacity and not go directly into their pockets. We could have built a couple of nuclear power plants with all that money.

So, all we have to do is pick Alberta up and set it in the middle of the US. Problem solved.

Or, and hear me out here, we could stop being ####ing stupid and stop killing the industry in Alberta. It's a lot tougher than moving Alberta, but we could at least try.

First off, the burden of proof is to show this pause is actually a benefit, and not a ridiculous kneejerk reaction to words Rob Anderson whispers in Danielle's ear....

Second, yes, kill.

The renewable energy industry says it was blindsided by the Alberta government’s moratorium on new wind and solar projects, and some executives warned on Friday the move could cause billions of dollars in green investments to flow to the United States and Europe instead.

One example, but you'd have to be blind not to come across endless articles over the past few weeks. But I imagine if this was a moratorium on oil well drilling by the NDP, there would be no end to the stories about it "killing" the industry from the usual suspects. Why is it so hard to admit this is bad for Alberta?

But then, don't listen to me, a dirty ctiy dweller. Listen to the rural municipalities who are also callnig this bull####. You know, the ones she claims to have listened to before doing this. If you are dumb enough to believe anything she tells you(and at this point, yes, that does make you dumb, sorry if the truth is uncomfortable).

Quote:
"They pulled the rug out from under us," said John Rimmer, mayor of Caroline, where the United Conservative government's move has stranded a solar project that would have contributed at least 15 per cent of the community's municipal budget.

Rimmer and the rest of village council sent a letter to Premier Danielle Smith saying the moratorium should be lifted.

"Corporations will not look kindly on these sorts of government decisions," the letter says. "Instead of a much-needed increase in our tax revenue, Caroline again will have to continue to move closer to dissolution."
Quote:
Innisfail was hoping to develop a project itself, said Barclay. She said it would have brought in about $500,000 a year, the equivalent of a six per cent property tax increase.

Hey if this is the new attitude, might as well have another royalty review. You know, for the better of Albertans.

I think we should probably ban all white pickup trucks on our public roads for 6 7 months, just to see how it works out.

I think we should introduce a maximum voting age of 50 in Alberta, for the betterment of Albertans.

Before anybody whines about it, let’s just see how it turns out first.

He thinks he’s speaking with the capital “L” Liberals now. He probably believes each of his posts are going directly to Trudeau.

A grim reminder than senility comes for us all.

I mean, you are either on the side of most experts and smart people, or Danielle Smith and Rob Anders. I know it's a tough choice, but you are welcome to re-think it.

Snark aside, if this turns into another Danielle Debacle, will you admit it AND use that to influence your future judgment?

It's funny how everyone that disagrees with them is a Liberal. They fail to consider the chance that we just might be able to recognize dumb policies, no matter our politics.
