What do you guys think of Mason Shaw as a PTO candidate for CGY? I'm not even sure if he's healthy after his 4th(?) ACL surgery, but he really reminds me of Brandon Prust.

Guy cant stay healthy (6+ seasons of injuries)He used to have some bite and was an alright energy guy but at this point I'd say his career is over or destined for the EU.
I'd rather use someone from the system, than waste a contract at this point. (McLain/Hunt etc for energy role)

Love the player-your Prust comparison is spot on. I wonder if he’s done though, as his ACL has been rebuilt twice in both knees.

Yeah, I really liked what I saw from him as well, he's only 24, and he's an Alberta boy too. I'm pretty sure he has to play in knee braces from now on, which will slow him down. That's why I thought he'd be a good option on a PTO, just to see how effective he can be after his recovery.
I think Minny will give him a PTO, but he's the type of player we could use, and if he's healthy I think he and Duehr could be great on a checking line, or as a 13th forward.

I think Patrick is done. Despite the rumors of many teams reporting on offering a PTO. That's being said, if he's healthy and can play, hell yeah sign him.

Now which reclamation project would I prefer the Flames to try out? Nolan Patrick or Puljujarvi?
I lean towards Patrick. But maybe a "why not both?" Applies here.
They're just PTOs, they'd have to really steal a job from someone to get signed in CGY.
But I'd be cheering for either to earn a contract.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Was Nolan Patrick even around the Knights during the cup run? I mean if he wasn't healthy enough to suit up or even skate with the team then I'm betting he isn't good enough to do a PTO now.
And Puljujarvi is still recovering from hip surgery.

He didn't play games so his name wasn't on the cup. For Patrick it's not is he good enough, it's is he healed up properly. Again, just a PTO. No harm no foul.
