I don't think it's either.. just a case of you believe what you consume. I bet if I asked my parents about Biden they'd have a very similar list. They're not bad people nor are they mentally ill, it's just all the info they consume tells them that's reality so they think that's reality.

Vivek won that debate by a mile. He's the front runner of this group. He's direct and doesn't waffle. The part where the candidates were asked, if Trump is the nominee and he's indicted in a court of law, who would still support him? Vivek's hand shot straight up and then the crowd cheered and more hands hesitantly came up. Everyone else sounds hollow, programmed, and nervous. He's got nothing to lose, no record to defend. Christie's trying to attack Trump after supporting Trump and Vivek ripped him one.

I'd like to see Vivek against Trump and which liar buckles.

Vivek called climate change a hoax and said we should not be supporting Ukraine, among other horrible positions on issues he mentioned. He's a psychopath who loves to talk, the most dangerous kind because he can get people on board with his plan.

He is horrible sure, but he's the front runner if Trump is gone. I mean who's going to get excited about Pence, Haley, Christie or DeSantis? All they did last night was hesitate and deflect. The outsider got all the attention and all the applause. Perhaps like a Ted Cruz, he's going to be in this race until the end.

And if it does get to the end? Can Trump out talk this guy? Can he give him a goofy nickname and rattle this guy? He's an outsider like Trump was.

Vivek is a Trump wannabe and looks to me like he is angling to be brought into his corrupt fold. I feel like he wants to sell me a used car whenever he talks.

But this is what a large element of the American population likes. Just wow them with passionate platforms that rile them up and they dont care about how things really are.

So dumb.

My thought is that he's aiming to be named VP on Trump's ticket. All his positions align with what one would expect Trump to see, and he's the first to defend him. He's not a serious candidate at all, but he thinks he can get to the WH with Trump. He seems to be tracking that way at least. Gives the Republicans a little protection against being seen as racists if he's with Trump.

Or if Trump has to withdraw, he scoops up all those voters. DeSantis has lost that lane. DeSantis playing too much both sides-ism.

Trump cult generally hates Vivek, ties to big pharma make him basically DOA with them. He's got no shot to take over if Trump bails, DeSantis still checks most of the boxes for the cult as an alternative option, even if he's flailing right now.

Vivek will lie to you with a smile on his face. No wonder some in the GOP love him.

Don’t be shocked if it appears Trump cannot be the nominee and Youngkin comes flying in off the top rope. He’s biding his time and watching for 28 but he could slot in now. This debate was just to see who might be Trump’s running mate.

What does the mechanism look like if Trump somehow has to drop out or dies late in the primaries with a big lead? Does the party get to put someone in? I can see it being Youngkin in that case, but seems unlikely he can get decent primary support.

Vivek is like if you bred a used car salesman with the "what would you say you do here?" guy from Office Space, gave him a bunch of coke, and drip-fed him a bunch of Infowars headlines for a month

The Republican National Committee would choose. It would be chaotic. The obvious replacement for a presidential candidate who dies or drops out with a huge lead is the person’s running mate, if named already. But they would not be formally bound to move the vice-presidential nominee up to the top of the ticket. I'm sure other candidates would make a play for the top spot. And if the running mate were to be chosen, the party would need to pick a new vice-presidential nominee. More chaos.

It shouldn't if you do it properly; that funding should go to other services that are actually capable of handling the things that police are typically tasked with and shouldn't be (ie: anything where intervention by social workers is more appropriate than by two police officers).

That musing about political assassinations on the Carlson/Trump interview leads me to think there may be some projection happening. Would Trump false flag his own to avoid prison?

These clips of DeSantis showing emotion/laughing, it’s like he has a Director in his ear, telling him what emotions to portray.

He's had a real "how do you do fellow humans" vibe since he's been in the spotlight.
