This song speaks a lot of truth. It just dropped 3 days ago and went insta-viral, #1 on Itunes, and got him a record contract. Not bad for 72 hours, and I don't even like country!
That guy is blowing up. I watched a video he made the night before this video was uploaded to YouTube. Seems like a very genuine guy and the video probably is not what most would expect him to be.

He's a dude in the woods with a guitar and his dogs.
Just what the record industry wants you to believe. /s
I don't know this guy, and maybe he's a legit viral sensation, but it's possible he's had industry backing from the start. It happens, but I don't get worked up about it. PsYcNeT is pretty cynical.
Even if he was planted by some shady industry group (which seems pretty unlikely as all of his previous music videos were recorded on his phone and only had a few hundred views each) that doesn't negate the message of the song, or how its resonated with vast swaths of the "forgotten man" population.
Apparently this guy exploded within 48 hours and the data suggests his streams vs download numbers show the numbers were cooked. Seems like his song has quickly become a conservative and alt-right anthem of sorts, leading to the speculation.
This guy seems to be the most vocal one looking into it, finding fake 1 day accounts, the background of those involved, etc: https://twitter.com/mattmoran_music
Though I would have thought artificially boosting numbers was a common practice in music to try and get some viral hits.

This is pretty much the K-Pop stan playbook. There's a reason K-Pop dominates trends on a daily basis, so it wouldn't surprise me if this is more about conservatives learning the playbook and executing it than this guy being a true industry plant like say Olivia Rodrigo.

Naw #### this anti-welfare weirdo and his bad song.
Outlaw Country is apparently how fat people getting government assistance are the real problem in society right now.

The song is popular in conservative circles sure, but its message is pretty universal in its appeal to the disaffected forgotten man, and is seeing positive reviews from people across ideological lines and not traditionally drawn to country or folk music.
Are all these reaction video views artificially inflated as well? I don't think so. He's authentically speaking truth to peoples hearts and souls and its resonating deeply.

lmao he's been omitting these lines when he's been playing live, wonder why
Also generalized anti-authoritarianism is pretty common in the US, doesn't mean this tripe isn't pandering to the kind of media consumers that jerk off to Benny Johnson and Jordan Peterson every night.
"What if Ben Shapiro discovered Mumford & Sons" apparently has an answer now

I mean I get it, you're ideologically set against anything that could be considered right-wing or conservative and by god you're gonna get your snarks in to make sure we all know, but you don't have to straight up lie.
As far as I've seen he's only performed it live once but he definitely included that line in the song (1:53).
It's also pretty telling that the audience is singing along with him the whole way, despite the song only being released less than a week ago.
Why are people acting like this is the first guy who ever wrote a song that spoke to people.
Jesus.
(also I love industry plant conspiracies so I’m 100% on board with him being one, the algo doesn’t allow for that kind of virality out of nowhere and his song isn’t good enough to merit it on its own)

I don't care about the message, the scream crying tone is what kills me.
That's totally fair.
I appreciate his authentic voice more than the over-produced auto-tuned garbage that is so popular these days, but its surely not going to be for everybody.

Naw it's blatantly obvious how fake and ingenuine this song is specifically because of those lines.
"Oh I'm standing up for the little people and speaking unspoken truths for the unheard - BUT NOT THOSE GODDAMN WELFARE QUEENS AND FAT PEOPLE" *sweats profusely from playing a guitar outside*
