I thought "Stevie" implied Yzerman.

Hanifin would be a good add for Detroit. They’ve got an extra 1st from the Bertuzzi trade.

Okay, So apparently Flames received some interested in two players over the weekend - A offer was made this morning - Teams are back to the drawing board working on a deal.

Lindholm was not the intended target.

Players are preparing to arrive back in Calgary over the next two weeks and Flames want to have their TC Roster in place.

Ill post more info as I get it.

I think it’s always an option if it makes sense.

I hope it’s Markstrom. But it won’t be.

My guess is Hanifin or Backlund.

Hanifin and Vladar are my list of most-likely to be traded prior to camp.

For what it's worth. I can confirm Hanifin is being shopped heavily... two most interested teams are Detriot and Buffalo. The snag with one of these teams was the extension.

They traded that 1st for Debrincat

Realistically they are absolutely the most likely. The team wants to make a spot for Wolf and Hanifin has been the most obvious trade candidate of the summer. I would be surprised if it wasn’t these 2

Man....Buffalo has so much young depth. That would be a juicy partner. Same with Detroit too.

Flames are under no pressure to move any goaltender unless someone not named Wolf, Markstrom or Vladar push in Camp.

With the AHL primarily playing on weekends. Wolf is waiver except and I think the plan is for him to play 5-20~ games this year with the big club during 3-4 game home stands with games during the week.

Oscar Dansk will hold down the fort in the AHL if Wolf is with the big club.

Would be quite the shift from under Darryl where Vladar started 34 of his 50 career Flames games on the road while Markstrom got the big bulk of home starts.

But makes a lot more sense with trying to get Wolf NHL starts and the schedules being quite different

If Vladar is moved to make way for Wolf, I'd expect the team would pick up another AHL goaltender to tandem with Dansk. The other two are strictly ECHL fodder (at least initially).

Detroit makes a ton of sense and Hanifin would really round out their defense as their #2

Hopefully Conroy can get a good deal done.

Berggren, a 1st, and a good prospect (Sandin-Pelikka or Edvinsson) would be a nice haul.

That would be a spectacular haul.

If either Sandin-Pelikka or Edvinsson is included, good job by Conroy.

My guess is Buffalo targeting Tanev.

Juju coming back with a pick as they look to add more leadership to the young D corps.

I agree they are not forced to do anything due to the waiver eligibility for Wolf but I would be surprised if their preference was to not have to run 3 goalies throughout the season and get the 2 time goalie of the year and reigning AHL MVP on the big roster.

There were rumblings the Flames declined trading Vladar for a 3rd at the draft so they are certainly not looking to give him away but I also think they would like the flexibility a rookie scale backup has vs a 2.2M veteran.
