I want my oldest to experience the Saddledome (youngest won't remember). A game like this would be epic even if in March (I'd prefer better weather but unless there's a long playoff run that isn't happening this season due to the end of November for the Flames first weekend game).
Maybe prices will come down. I'll keep checking but if CYMaden happens to stumble upon cheap flights YQY-YYC for March 2, I'd appreciate the heads up.

Serious question: in a redraft of 1995, do Iginla and Kiprusoff go first and second?
Iginla goes first for sure, the only competition for Kipper going second looks to be Shane Doan. I think Kipper goes ahead of Marc Savard, Peter Sykora, Wade Redden and JS Giguere pretty easily.
Redrafts of course are fantasy because of the individual player and team situations at that time and a couple years down the road dictating how the player develops depending on who he plays with, how the team does, the coaches etc and just timing luck or lack of luck can dictate so much about how the player develops physically and mentally for the rest of his career, especially ones that are used to being stars or top players on their junior teams.
Goalies especially so. Kiprusoff was third string in SJ when traded, after really struggling the year before as a chance to be the starter when Nabokov went down. And he'd been on the farm for SJ for a few years before that. He may have gone back to Finland if the Flames didn't get him when they did.
Giguere won a Cup but he probably wouldn't have ended up in Anaheim when he did if he didn't start his career and go through all he did with the sad sack Flames.
The Anaheim, Detroit, San Jose and Chicago first round exits were painful. Especially considering the Flames were so close in the Anaheim and San Jose series especially. But those 90+ point seasons under Brent Sutter where the Flames missed the playoffs entirely were another level. Three Kipper seasons wasted.
I've been watching a lot of Kipper highlights lately, so this one just popped up in my Recommended... It's only halfway through the offseason right now, and I've already got my mid-season hate on for the refs. Such a BS call on the second one, but Kipper coming through! Talk about being the dictionary definition of "unflappable."
(First one was a cheap call, but at least it was an actual penalty.)

flights are super cheap to YVR right now with Porter's new fare...maybe that then a backtrack?

Reason: typo
10+ year old technology will do that (Six whole megapixels!). Plus, IIRC that was shot wide and cropped down. And Getty at the time had this thing where they wanted things sized within 3000x3000 pixels. No, I don't know why.

Man I remember being just as pissed as Sutter over that total bullcrap call on that second penalty shot you linked. Even now I fail to see what the call was for.
