Always love watching the last couple minutes of Kippers last game, where the crowd goes crazy. That was the most emotional I've ever seen Miika get in a game with the little had nods as the crowd cheered, lol.

Unbelievable save - mask up sip of water.
Game 7, Cup Final, dying minutes - mask up, sip of water.

I can't wait for the banner raising and for that to be his only reaction.

Love Pete Maher, but Noodles has to be the MC for this thing.

The Flames should mandate that Jersey Retirement Nights are C of Red Nights.

That's why it would almost be cooler if he didn't even show up on his jersey retirement, and instead just had a video on the big screen from him on his boat. Dart in his mouth and half finished bottle of vodka while he reels in a catch.

Honoured to be retired, but not enough to stop doing his thing to catch a flight to the other side of the world, c'mon now... What a beauty

Peter Maher ruined Iggy's retirement. He did not let the crowd give a proper Iggy Iggy Iggy chant. He kept cutting them off.

That was their chance to say thank you one last time.

Unpopular opinion, sue me.

Mike Smith ruined Iggy's retirement night.

Yeah, it was a little weird. I don't think he was used to giving a speech in front of 20000 people and he kind of went into a more robotic mode, trying to power through his speech with some nerves. Which isn't what we're used to hearing from Peter.

70 years old, hadn't done the job in five years, I'll give him a big time pass. It was a hugely emotional event for Peter as well. He was emotional not only at the Jersey retirement but flew in just to MC Iginla's player retirement press conference as well.

My guess at the time was he was that part of his job as the MC was to keep the thing from going too long

Kipper was probably one of the best goalies I’ve seen live. For sure the best Flames goalie I have seen.

I remember there were a few seasons where Kipper wasn't at his best, but still always felt confident in net. Even in his lower performing seasons he still always provided that steady presence.

08/09 was his leanest year. But I'd suggest that playing 76 games will almost inevitably lead to worse goalie stats.

Mike Keenan finds a way to ruin goalies and Kipper was no different.

He sat on TSN and blamed Kipper for that team not going far.

Thankfully the owners wanted him gone before he tarnished Kippers legacy.

Serious question: in a redraft of 1995, do Iginla and Kiprusoff go first and second?

Iginla goes first for sure, the only competition for Kipper going second looks to be Shane Doan. I think Kipper goes ahead of Marc Savard, Peter Sykora, Wade Redden and JS Giguere pretty easily.

He and Ville Nieminen. That team had all the character you could ask for.
