Getzlaf is an elite talent nothing wrong with Honzek not being at that level. Doesn’t mean he is a bad prospect or pick.

The fact is that you cannot actually know that. Getzlaf went 19th in his draft and had serious question marks. Honzek could be the next Getzlaf and there is no harm in letting someone think that.

Getzlaf went 19th because of concerns in his attitude and give a F meter, not his skills. Those were never in question which is a big reason he still went that high in a stacked draft.

And Honzek had an injury that could have kept him out of the top ten. Anyways I don’t really think Honzek will be anywhere as good as Getzlaf but point remains. You added nothing of substance to judge a player you know nothing about besides what you read in two minutes.
What was the point in replying to that person telling them they were wrong other than being negative. There wasn’t.

I wasn’t defending him per se, simply making the observation that you crap on everyone why says anything negative about the Flames.

Not sure why you are so threatened by realistic talk about the downside of the Flames.

It’s not like the Flames are setting any success records.

He asked if Getzlaf was a comparable, I gave my opinion that he wasn’t.

I didn’t say the poster should have no excitement, didn’t say Honzek was a bad pick or crap. It was an answer to the question the poster put in his post.

You are looking for reasons for it to be negative because you don’t like me as a poster. You are attributing negative aspects to it that aren’t there.
