Or the Sharks have soured on Eklund a bit and were hoping they could get out of Couture's contract and then get futures for Lindholm. I don't think there is a team that would take Couture on at his full cap hit.

Disagree that they are bent over a barrel. If they rush, just to get a trade done, then yes. But Conroy just needs to manage the situation better than that - once there is more than one dance partner, the price will normalize.

Quality over quantity, always.

But that doesn't mean that Eklund is the best quality they can get. Also, there is no reason to assume this goes to the deadline.

Conroy likely has to wait for the trade deadline to get more than one suitor.

Right now, their just isn't many teams that want to contend with much cap space.

Sure, but it is also a contract year for all of them, so they should be hungry.

Flames are trying to maintain their mediocrity I don’t think they want futures for Lindholm.

The B's are just too good of a target for Lindholm. Lysell, Debrusk, Carlo....they have some decent assets or even players that could then be flipped.

Then perhaps you should leave and find a team that would lead you to believe they are on the cusp. Here, I have found the perfect home for you.

Backlund would be more ideal for them. We can retain 50% and target Poitras/Lysell + a 2nd rounder. Maybe an additional pick based on Boston success.

Picking up Carlo could be a long term second pairing solution with kylington, and zad plus tanev would be the most solid D core in ages, even with hanifin shuffled away in a separate trade. Would love Carlo and lysell with a pick.

There are many, many posters who believe Calgary seriously needs to rebuild, but will support them regardless.

These are not mutually exclusive you know.

I could get behind this, and maybe add in Kristian Kostadinski for more future D depth.

The poster did not even talk about rebuilding so I am not sure what you are going on about here. I mean if you really want to become the public defender of spurs it might make others question your motivations for posting on here.

The scariest things on Earth:

1. Being buried alive
2. Nuclear holocaust
3. When everyone doesn't overrate the Flames
4. Fear itself
