Of the two, Honzek might get an extended stay at main training camp.

Conroy is taller but not bigger than Iggy when they were playing. Maybe he is just a fatter old man lol

I met Brian Burke at a rookie camp when he was here, and I was very surprised by how tall he is. He’s 6’2”.

I love how Darren Haynes puts so much detail into his tweets.

The untied ties make him look taller than he is.

I watched Iggy quite a bit at the Camp he definitely looks lighter now than his old game weight…..the guy is a lean specimen….

Man, the Flames really have a young crop of big players coming up aside from a few (Coronato, etc).

I think Klapka was as big as his horse.
Also: A deadpan Coronato saying he's "excited."

I really hope this isn't a return to the days of drafting coke machines over skill. Not apparent so far as these players at least have some skill, but drafting size over skill has killed this team before

The size fetish of the Flames' last three drafts isn't specific to the Flames. The average size of all players drafted by NHL clubs over the past 5-6 years has increased. I can't find the infographic that was posted on Twitter a couple weeks ago, but iirc, the average draftee height is up 1-2 inches over that time to 6'2''/6'3''.

It was much more noticeable this draft than previous for me but that may just be in my head

This was not a draft of size over skill, this was a draft of skill, most of whom came with size

It might be but a lot of the high end small guys fell in the draft (Benson is the biggest one to me). I remember noticing that nearly everyone in the first 15-17 picks or so was 6 feet or taller.

So are people thinking Honzek might pull a Monahan and stay up all year?
That would be exciting indeed.
