He mailed it in for the last part of his career absolutely. Always coming to camp out of shape.

Can't look at him as a professional.

Looking at the thanks your post got not surprising it's the Sutter loving guys and Huberdeau is the worst player ever lmao

I'm a fan of both Sutter and Huberdeau. They were both at fault, the blame isn't solely on either. But neither were good enough at their jobs last year. I'm expecting more from Huberdeau this year.

Thanks for getting back to me….. nice of you to take a break from your Dungeons and Dragons and reply before you ate the grilled cheese sandwich your mom made you. Complete joke, chirping a retired professional athlete. Too bad Pros vs. Joes wasn’t still a thing, would love to see you take the ice against Rhett……that’s if you can skate of course.

Let me guess…..Oilers fan correct?

They had Robyn Regehr on couple of days ago and he gave a really long and interesting interview. They talked about everything from his life growing up, to his time as a player, and the current situation with the Flames. He also to a shot at the players last season who quit on the coach, in particular Huberdeau.

Good interview, always loved Reggie. Was kinda hoping they’d have some old stories from when him and Rhett played together.

Hearing Regehr talk about his car accident in detail was actually pretty crazy though. I knew about what happened, but to hear him talk about it was pretty eye opening. Hard to believe he was on the ice less than two months after the accident. Then played pro hockey a month or so after that

Rhett has talked about game 7 against Anaheim before. Apparently a bunch of guys went back to Rhett’s place after the game and had some pops. Somebody asked everyone, “what the hell happened? How did we lose this series?”. Apparently Stephane Yelle said it was because Darryl pushed them too hard. Down the stretch, it was all about winning the division. Darryl put so much emphasis on winning the division that by the time the playoffs rolled around, the team was completely burnt out

That wasn’t choking - it was exhaustion.

I'm through 2/3 parts. I just don't remember Regehr being this well-spoken. He's a delight to listen to.

Loved the bit in part 1 about how Mike Keenan was the worst coach he's ever had. Pretty much mirrored what we all thought at the time; useless practices that were simply routines and never adapting or changing things up and having no idea what's going on. Frankly it's a miracle that the team played like it did off the back of Iggy's Hart-worthy performances, Kipper's reliabililty and Regher on the backend.

Great interview so far.

Why do they all sound like they're so far away?

I feel like I'm on the phone with Regehr and he has the other guys on speaker phone in his place.

Regehr is just wrong though, Huberdeau didn't quit on Sutter at all.

Huberdeau was the teams best player (or at worst top 3 with Toffoli and Weegar) down the stretch.

Saying Huberdeau quit on the coach is such a lazy narrative.

Over the last 20 games at 5v5:

Points: 13 (1st)
On Ice GF: 20 (2nd)
On Ice GA: 10 (5th)
GF%: 66.7% (2nd)
xGF%: 57.6% (6th)

That's not a guy that quit on the team to me.
