For sure. It would be a pretty good hit on a late first.

I think both Honzek and Morin have more star potential than Coronato. But they are further away from achieving it. Suniev might actually have more as well, but he is much further away.

IMO, Coronato is (now) a strong bet for a middle-6 role, with a decent chance of being a top line player. Whereas, I think Honzek and Morin each have more ability to become a top line / top pairing player (even though, as 18 year olds, they also have a greater chance of busting, or not achieving expectations).

I believe that Pelletier is going to be an excellent player for the Flames and a substantial part of the future core (2nd liner). I also see him as eventually ending up as the 4th-7th best player out of this group of prospects.

I think Coronato can be a 30-goal scorer in the NHL, so I went with him.

I think this comes down to how you weigh potential, likelihood of meeting potential, and how long it will take to make an impact. I went with Honzek as highest potential but Pelletier and Coronato have a good shot of sticking in the NHL this season and could be impact players right away.

Right now, or his eventual ceiling?

Question now seems to be is it as a winger? Or center? Having him their eould certainly help ease my mind about our long term Center depth.

Went with Honzek for the 2nd time. Has the highest ceiling of the prospects.

Coleman wouldn't even be a terrible outcome for Pelletier, but worth pointing out that Pelletier was .94 PPG in the AHL at age 20, Coleman's one 'full' year in the AHL was age 24-25 and he was .75 PPG

I did vote Pelletier, although he might not have the higher upside that then 2 more recent first rounders, I think his production (not just his NHL appearance) in the AHL at 20 and 21 is suggestive of someone who can be a productive NHLer

Based on? Not disputing him being a good prospect or anyone voting him here, Just wondering what gives him the highest ceiling.

For me it’s the combination of size, skill and skating ability that separate him. Pelletier and Coronato have more middle 6 upside and I see Honzek as having top 6 upside. Don’t get me wrong Pelletier and Coronato are going to be very good players I just don’t think they are as skilled as Honzek.

If Zary isn't three all of the previous poles should be set on fire.

He was the heir apparent and now what? Complete bust?

I think we have a pretty solid top 8 in Coronato, Honzek, Morin, Pelletier, Poirier, Suniev, Wolf and Zary.

I've been happy with the Flames drafting for the most part. Really wish they didn't pass on Stankoven and Hutson but otherwise has been pretty solid lately.

Top nine as i would include stormgren. I could call ten with topi who could be a bit if a wildcard.

Whenever it's close for me I imagine the two players getting traded straight up for each other and then ask myself which side of the trade I'd be more excited for.

Always movement year to year with graduates and new entries.

Not sure I'd jump to complete bust if Zary moved from 4th last year to 5th or 6th.

Plus Zary hasn't really been setting the world on fire so far. I'd say he probably could drop a couple spots even if we didn't have shiny new toys to consider.
