I think Coronato has a higher ceiling than Pelletier, and has enough progression to date, to be ahead of him.
I actually think Honzek has an even higher ceiling, but with no progression data yet, I have to go with Coronato.

Went Coronato over Pelts, just think he has a higher ceiling based on this NCAA, World Junior, and World Champs performances.

I totally disagree. if we are going to draw comparison to former or current Flames I would say that Pelletier reminds me of Blake Coleman.

Of course - I don't think Coronato's pedigree moves the needle... not for me anyways. Lots of promising mid 1st round guys have failed to perform at the pro level. At least with Pelletier I've seen that he can handle the pro game.

Coronato has the potential to be a star. I would say it isn't necessarily likely, but of all the prospects, he's the only one with star potential.
I don't know much about Honzy, but I'll probably vote for him next round.

Hard not to go with Coronato with the season he had. I like Pelletier but Wolf and Coronato are a step above him imo.

I don't doubt him at all. In fact, I almost wouldn't include him in the prospects pool because I think he's an NHLer.
But I don't think he becomes a star or topline player in the big league. Coronato might; Honzek maybe. Pelletier, no.

Wolf might be good enough to be a 'face of the franchise' type for this team, but few goalies ever become that. Roy was for Montreal, but not Colorado. Lundquvist probably was. Hasek defintely was in Buffalo. However, the face of the franchise is usually a skater, and out of all the prospects, I feel Honzek as the most potential to get there.
I am very high on the Flames' prospect base as a whole, and see some players with a potential to be stars - Coronato, Pelletier, Poirier, Morin, etc. I also assign huge value on a guy like Klapka, who I think could develop into a very important piece later on if he continues to progress. Guys like Zary, Kuznetsov, Stromgren, Suniev, etc - all show high potential too.
At this point, I see Honzek as the most likely 'franchise player' in the years to come, rather than being down on guys like Coronato. I think Honzek as a fairly complete high-end package will make a lot of people wonder how he didn't go top 10 in the draft in a couple of seasons.

This is one if the issues i have with just an open rank. I put a lot of stock on AHL success so wolf, zary, poirier. Coro has done well in college a pretty good league itself.
However when you look at sheer upside Honzek probably goes first, then wolf, then coro these are the three with first line( position relevant) potential. I think Honzek is going to make a few teams in the teens if not top ten regret their decision. I think he is a star in the making ( i stick to my getzlaf comparison) but i rank him second or third with almost no margin between him and coro. Then add morin who could be a top pair defencemen the gaps are soo narrow on some of these and i think suniev belongs here to.
On the other hand Pelts and rucicka have nhl games and both had stretches where they look like they belong. ( do we have a more frustrating prospect here than rucicka? Eat breads fire with him he is a top six center gaaahhh)
So to me pelts and rucy have the targets on their back right now and they probably know it.
I dont care what anyone says our prospect pool is actually pretty damn good and just seems to keep putting out nhl potential. Just wish we could have had one more pick in the twenties this last draft but we do have at least one more prospect coming from potential trades this year so we could be looking really good here.

Better prospect from a much deeper draft IMO

not doubting Pelletier at all ... I think he will be a really solid NHLer for a very long time and I'm excited about his progress. Just think he'll be more of a 2nd liner when all is said and done, while I do think Coronato might end up being a top line forward if all goes well.
Honzek is hard to gauge. We're obviously more familiar with Pelletier and also Coronato, so Honzek being a new member of the prospect group might cost him a spot or two in these rankings.

Unless he has a Monahan-like 9 game stint, back to CHL.

Pelletier looks like a top 9 guy to me. He will have an NHL career but I think his ceiling is Coleman

Yeah, he'd need to have a killer camp and pre-season

197 points in 464 games and a Stanley Cup is a pretty good ceiling TBH.

I'm voting Coronato because I think he becomes a steadfast NHLer this year but I think Honzek has a good chance of becoming the better player.
Pelletier doesn't have the ceiling those 2 have imo, have him at #4.
