Yup, how many cities are 45 minutes from the mountains. Players coming up seem to be so entitled, but I guess we just have to get used to it. See ya Milan, dont let the door hit you on the way out.

His tweets are often simplistic statements of things where it is a mix of fact and speculation but he doesn’t draw that line with clarity
“No update from Conroy on lindholm. One wonders if they will enter the season with him unsigned” would be a better way of tweeting it
I find him to be a generally bad reporter
Nothing about being a homer or not it’s the lack of critical thought and mix of reporting and opinion. Stating things that are speculative as fact

There is lots to do in and around Calgary. People saying otherwise clearly lack any kind of creativity or are being flat out lazy.

Wait, are players are entitled because they don’t charter private jets for recreation? Don’t get your feefees hurt, he wasn’t slagging Calgary he was saying what players see as valid reasons. Nothing he said should come as a shock to anyone.

My feefees are not hurt, im not even from Calgary, it was a general statement that players these days seem to be more entitled. Its fine though, dont want to be here then dont be here.

It's a tricky situation for Conroy. Other teams will probably continue to lowball if they think he has a hard internal deadline. I am not sure Lindholm wants to risk having a poor season that may affect his negotiating if he become a UFA as well.
Gotta be patient. The only true deadline to get something done is the trade deadline next season.

Again, Valiji has tried to suck up to Conroy since he got nowhere with the last regime. But, hasn't worked. Conroy, yes even Conroy, found someone that he's not going to have long chat ls with, becuase Valji appear to be just as annoying as he seems. As has been mentioned, he's just setting up future pot stirring article referencing JG and MT with extrapolating that here in early July 2023, becuase Conroy brushed him off with a non descrip answer, Lindholm is not going to be signed or have a decision made by training camo and is going to walk away July 1 2024.

If your place of work every day your at home is now makeshift and falling apart becuase it's 15 years past its useful lifecycle, it starts to wear on you, especially when each of the 31 other offices you visit have better facilities for the visitors than what you have at home for yourself.
It cannot be understated how much this factors in.
Lucic's comments on the whole are bang on,not personal, as he says it's just what other guys comment on; but sure, 20 something guys, married or not, have different lifestyle preferences, and they have been in or have friends in different cities and see what else is out there. Coleman comes here partly for the mountains, everyone has their personal preferences and there are no secrets in this day and age about cities themselves for these players.

Dowbiggen stirred the pot too of course, but with a little more tact and snark, and he was balanced at the Herald by three or four other beat writers so he could be the opinion guy...Valji is supposed to be the main Calgary guy for a national network, although that prestige and luster has waned for these roles over the past decade.
Valji didn't endear himself to Sutter or Treliving or the Flames PR department last year. He's just looking to rock the boat with hot takes, mostly for ego and personal gain so he gets moved to a better spot at TSN somewhere else.

I don't live in Calgary but outside of going to the beach, I can't think of things that I wished I could do at a majority of regular NHL cities, and really the beach is probably not really a normal thing either.

I do get what Lucic is saying. These guys are not engaging in winter sports during the season. So while the mountains are indeed beautiful, it limits what they do during the season. You see athletes at NBA, NFL, MLB games all the time so that is clearly an activity many enjoy. Tons of hockey players are avid golfers and golf is something you can do on a day off. Just not in Calgary during the winter.
Thing is, Flames can’t control the weather or the entertainment options in the city. But they sure as hell can create a first class organization. And that’s not just about facilities. And while lots to debate about a new arena, I don’t see anyone saying CSEC has done everything possible to move the issue forward.

I guess the takeaway is taxpayers need to hurry up and get a massive indoor golf complex built

This article is being taken out of context in my opinion! He also talks about all the things he loved to do in Calgary.

Well these guys have a lot more wealth than us I assume so they have a lot more disposable income to do things regular people can't.
I love my city but it doesn't offer much in terms of entertainment in the winters.
While the Dome is old a lot of arenas are dated. Players have signed in Arizona to play in a high school gym so I don't buy that it's an arena issue.
