Are there any RFA/UFA's that are eligible for contract renewals that live in Calgary in the off-season?

Yeah I'm friends with his cousin, and he was talking about Dumba maybe eventually winding up in Calgary after playing in Minnesota. I haven't checked in with him in a while though.

Yeah. Can we trust the Padawan to win a trade over his old master? Or at least finagle a fair deal that helps the Flames?
I would be uneasy. We don't need Tre screwing us over again from his new gig.

Timmins actually looked okay in his short stints but just figuring they would want to send us back some kind of money.

If hanifin gets moved for mostly futures, I'd be interested in Dumba to fill out the d

With Dallas not picking up a UFA on defense, and being rumored to be in on hanafin, I think that dumba is the backup plan for them if they can't make the hanafin asking price.

Boundlessly more likely than some of the stuff that has been rumored here.

Play for player I agree that's never worked out in general for the Flames when trading with the Leafs but Treliving has shown in the past that he has no issues trading multiple high draft picks to acquire players he covets so as long as the picks make sense I don't see how the Flames could lose the deal outside of missing on the picks which would be their own fault.

Other than Toronto has negative cap space.

Yeah, I think the window for a trade is over now. Teams signed their players already and will likely go ahead with who they have to start the season apart from some tinkering for depth. The next potential window would be if a team gets an injury to a top 4 dman or if their team stumbles out of the gate into December. After that, it'll have to wait until the trade deadline.

There will absolutely be discussions around Hanifin well before the TDL.
Eichel was traded in the fall. Hanifin probably will be too.
Whichever team underperforms to start (that has lofty ecpectations) will be blowing up Conroy's phone.
Things are not "set" just because some teams signed a few periphery players (to mostly reasonable contracts).
There's more than a handful of teams that want the improvement Hanifin can give their blue line.

Agreed.
Let's just get some ####ing verdicts in here. Walking along the fence is more painful.
