Rebuilding crew wants scorched earth, loading up on draft picks and then tanking for the basement in the next few years to draft top #3 multiple times.

Do you not understand the concept of value?
Trade Lindholm for a 7th! Rebuild, amiright? No room to complain there! Gotcha.

This would be a very bad team.

As someone mentioned, he is already one of the more productive players from the 2018, there is something there.

Mangiapane is actually a great compaison, as they are both late round picks (who tend to make the NHL at a later age - if ever). Here is the trajectory for Mangiapane and Sharangovich, by age (G-A-P, games, P/82):
Mangiapane:
22) 8 - 5 - 13, 44, 24
23) 17 - 15 - 32, 68, 38.5
24) 18 - 14 - 32, 56, 46.9
25) 35 - 20 - 55, 82, 55
26) 17 - 26 - 43, 82, 43
Sharangovich:
22) 16 - 14 - 30, 54, 45.5
23) 24 - 22 - 46, 76, 49.6
24) 13 - 17 - 30, 75, 32.8
Career averages to date are 42.0 for Mangiapane and 42.4 for Sharangovich.
Sharangovich was the better player, through their first 3 years in the NHL (22 through 24). Mangiapane broke out at 25. Will Sharangovich? That is the question.

Exactly.
And value for hockey players is based on supply and demand, which can change quite rapidly.
Today, the value of certain players has decreased quite a bit due to lack of viable cap space.
The value of a Taylor Hall changed to nothing simply based on few having available cap space.

What is with some of these guys? Toffoli wanted 6 or 7 years?
He's not an idiot. He knows that the likelihood of him ever replicating his 73 point season is essentially nil which is why he wants to bank on it.
But he must realize that everyone else isnt an idiot either. I mean, other than Ken Holland.
Nobody is paying a 31-year old coming off a career year assuming he's going to keep it up for the next half-decade or so.
What world do these people live in?

I would say that he isn't really a young player and not sure there is much or any upside.
That is why I am disappointed, not mad.

I think Sharangovich makes Dubé trade bait and slots in at 2LW.

Hey may be he won't extend with the Devils and become UFA next off season and signs with the Oilers, Kenny certainly will give him a 6x6.

Are you sure?
At 25, Carter Verhaeghe had 13 points in career 52 games.
At the same age, Jonathan Marchessault had one NHL point.
And for good measure, Pekka Rinne didn’t score his first NHL goal until he was 37 and everyone called him such a beast!!

I think Hanifan goes and Duclair slots in on the top line with Huberdeau. Sharangovich ends up on the third line.

What else do we have to do with our time?
Besides, starting to slot guys in highlights strengths/weaknesses and points toward more trade speculation (like above some thinking Dube's maybe trade bait now)
