The disappointing part about Sportsnet's coverage is they didn't have a draft board on the side for consensus best player available. Or at least one person's opinion.

I guess I was thinking the way this went down perhaps he might have received a 1st rounder today. But sounds like he wanted the roster player we got.

Best thing about TSN is that they actually had commentators with draft projections so they would show the best available player still on the board. Sportsnet had nothing.

Apparently the actual professionals in the NHL have a different opinion of the draft's first round than many of those not actually having a job in the NHL. Curious, that.

I hope Conroy and company take a good look at what STL is doing.
Recent cup winners who haven't been afraid to make big moves to retool with high end draft capital quickly.

I wish the Flames treated the last trade deadline like they did instead of chasing that last wild card spot.
