Seems like the Blues have too many good young forward prospects, maybe they need a good 26 year old NHL dman. Maybe the Flames could help them out. Currently they have 6 forwards who were picked in the first round in the last 3 drafts.

He’s a “safe” pick and was bigger than most kids in the whl so he was able to put muscle a lot of them just based on size.
His stride is awkward, he’s not fast, he’s not flashy and he doesn’t have a hard shot.
He plays small for his size, there’s just so many things that don’t translate, but hey the flames seem to think he’s the next rantanen, i’ll happy eat crow if that happens but i’m pretty confident he’s borderline 3rd liner.

The quality of this draft really makes me sad that the Flames tried to limp into the playoffs. Ritchie is a good player, watched him a fair bit the last couple years out in Ontario as well. Teams are getting guys that would go top 10 in most drafts in the 25-30 spots.
