I hate Pierre. Why can't he just say Florida offered Duclair and the Flames are looking at other offers which are better. Why does he have to say that Duclair would be the centrepiece? Makes it sound like the Flames are pursuing the bum.

Oh, I meant I want the Flames to trade Hanifin to a team that will give them a 2023 1st (plus). Then, I’d like the Flames to later go out and get Duclair for a 3rd or a 4th.

I appreciate Connie getting Lebrun to help him push up the price. But Duclair + coming back is diet coke on the keyboard level funny to other GM's.

Just a hunch, Duclair is the cap dump throw in on the Hanifin deal, not the centrepiece.

Hanifin is still young himself, and actually has upside. It's not like we're trading an over the hill vet that will start to decline. Lundell is certainly not too much to ask.

Just wait until the deadline when teams get desperate. This time of year every team has the luxury to slow play

To be fair they traded the Flames a GREAT package for Tkachuk, which the Flames could've flipped for multiple hauls, and realistically ended up with 3 first rounders and other picks and assets to start over with, but the Flames squandered that return themselves by getting tunnel vision for the 22-23 season and a need to prove themselves after a guy walked.

Don't know how mad you can be at Florida for that.

If we manage to get Lundell I would be personally make an "In Conroy We Trust" thread.

I think a 1st + 3rd for Hanifin is a return I'd be happy with.

So 1st + Duclair is also fine in my eyes.

...even if that 1st isn't until 2026.

Buffalo's 13th Overall is my main hope. I really hope we get that pick.

If directed right, we could have had about 5-6 first round picks in this draft.

didnt realize how often he has been injured. Would seem like an odd centerpiece or even a player desired from Calgary. Hopefully LeBrun is just stirring the pot.

Sounds like Calgary is the one asking for Duke, no?

Apparently Hanifin to Buffalo popped up on NHL.com for a hot second according to HF

Not at all but I am not sure who would be moving out to fit him into our top 6.
