I hope Conny treads carefully. The Leafs traditionally haven't been a great trade partner for the Flames.

I welcome it. The Leafs have a 1st, Treliving would likely move it for better help on the back end. Tanev (50%) + Vladar for Murray, 1st (28th OA), Timmins, random prospect

Interesting speculation. I could see it. Chicago has been making waves for big change and defensemen are at a premium right now. I wonder who might be interested though.

Calgary did well the last time. Rittich for the 2022 Toronto third round pick, which was then traded for Zadorov (signing rights). Rittich ended up playing 4 games for the Leafs. Zadorov is going to either be a mainstay or traded for as decent return.

As bad as the analytics say Seth Jones is, he was the main man for team US at the word championship and did not look bad.
I think if he got moved down to the 2nd pairing on a good team against lesser opponents he would look so much better. But what team with a very good first pairing has the cap space and the stupidity to make such a trade?
If Edmonton had the cap space, I could see them doing something like this. They will think their first pairing is elite, and maybe Chicago picks up some of their one year cap crap, Edmonton signs brother Jones and away they go.
Juts pure speculation, but Seth was a Bowman move, and they've been backtracking on that ever since he got the boot.

Seth Jones has a 9.5 million dollar cap hit until 2030. One of the worst deals in the league, he won’t be moved.

You make a good point. Draft picks have always been valued as currency by Treliving. If any GM is going to move a 1st round pick today it's him.

I'd probably hang on to Tanev until the deadline. Reason being that Kylington should be returning this season. He's been out of game action for a full year and I think it'd be valuable to have a stabilizing guy like Tanev next to him when he returns.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chris Snow's analytics was the one pushing for Sharangovich

I hope the not busy rest of the week comment means that they're staying out of the UFA signings.
I like Zadorov but if there's interest and it gets us more picks this draft do it.
Hanifin not imminent means nothing, all it takes is one good offer to come in.
Sure, try to sign Lindholm until you get a good offer instead, or he accepts something reasonable. I'm good either way, but there should be an internal deadline of sometime during the year (before the deadline) to either have him signed or move him. With Conroy's comments so far I'm not worried about it being another Gaudreau scenario though.
Re: Sharangovich, I'll stay cautious in getting optimistic... sure maybe he has something to prove, maybe he thinks he's got a better shot/spot in our lineup than with the Devils, maybe just better utilization brings something great. Or maybe he's a middle 6er that doesn't pan out at all. Or worst case maybe he even refuses to sign as an RFA this summer and goes to Europe... We'll see.

Tanev has way to many injury problems to hold on to him. There's a significant chance he could be untradable at the deadline

He's definitely a guy if healthy you probably think hard about holding out of your lineup a few weeks prior to the deadline.

I totally agree Conny needs to tread lightly, but I never understand how "history" even plays into these things for fans. Totally agree with your sentiment on the history between Flames and Leafs trades, but for example, what influence or impact do trades conducted by:
Doug Risebrough and Cliff Fletcher
or
Daryl Sutter and Brian Burke
Have on any trade made between Craig Conroy and Brad Treliving?
I think whether it's the Leafs or others, Conny needs to tread lightly with everyone, cause he's the rookie GM going against more seasoned peers.

Feel like that's a sneaky good acquisition for the Avs (depending on the cost of course). Liked what I saw from Colton the few Lightning games I watched.

Which is why you have Don Maloney and Dave Nonis there.
