Scary to think what offers would be underwhelming relative to the already-underwhelming Toffoli return.

Come on Connie. Let him go and fill the cupboards. We already have 2 aging contracts we can I’ll afford. We don’t need another one on the books.

I like how we laundered our 3rd. It came back clean as a whistle.

Now go read the Toffoli trade thread and have your mind blown at the reaction.

Letting Lindholm situation hold them hostage is beyond wrong.
It completely blocks all flexibility at the draft when you want to maximize picks as best you can.
#### or get off the pot… why are they allowing this.
This is frustrating.

They don’t view it as being held hostage though. They want to re-sign and hope the other moves they make convince him to do it. If he doesn’t then maybe they actually trade him before the season.

Allowing what? I bet they still trade Hanifin even if they sign Lindholm.

Lots were upset Treliving left. The guy who was mediocre and let problems fester to point the team imploded.
Not much shocks me at least

Exactly. So saying people wouldn’t support a rebuild because of the Toffoli trade is dumb.

Should really go back and look at the Lindholm and Hanifin trade thread.
It's very loudly negative here for initial trade reactions.

So Conny should publicly inform all the other GMs that are currently lowballing him on Lindy that we’re in a rush and need this done by tomorrow?
I’m no negotiating expert, really not, but communicating short desperate timelines seems like a bad move.

Giving Lindy the Gaudreau red carpet while an elite draft passes you by seems unwise.
Get an answer, and commit to whatever the outcome is.
Holding on to hope that you can be a Florida Panthers with a C grade core that's aging doesn't seem worth passing up the opportunity to fill the cupboards right now.
But you do that thing that you do Flames.

I think we over simplify / over complicate things on here. Time will tell if Conny’s any good at this job, but let’s be real here. He understands this as well as anyone on here. He didn’t just forget what happened with Gaudreau.
He knows what this draft is, and knows the key dates and what happens as they pass. If Lindy hasn’t put pen to paper, and Conny doesn’t pull the trigger by draft day on a trade, it’s not going to be cause he’s delusional or is risking it all on a hope and prayer. It’s because he thinks the offers are #### and won’t accomplish what most of us on here who are desperate for him think it will.
If it passes it’s because he didn’t get the offers and thinks the offers / outcome he can get down the road will serve him and they team better. He might be wrong, but believing he’s going against his own word on learning from Gaudreau is a bit silly at this point.

If he could fill the cupboards the trade would have been done.
