All Situations

Player A: GP-235 G-38 P-128
Player B: GP-205 G-53 P-106

5v5

Player A: GP-235, G-22, P-74
Player B: GP-205, G-35, P-76

Player A is Lindholm the three seasons prior to when we traded for him at 23 turning 24. Player B is Sharangovich who just turned 25.

Hopefully we can see similar upside here.

I'm really not hating this deal.
Well if that’s all we need we might as well trade Lindholm for Duclair and a fourth

He forgets to mention that it was the TDL when there are bidding wars for a player like Toffoli, and he had term left then. You were buying multiple years and trying to beat competing offers.

Now he's a 31 year old UFA.

Flames are 100% baking on their pro scouts having found a gem here.
Salim Valji with a negative Flames take?

Ironically, Sharangovich points helped me win last year's CP Hockey Draft.

I was disappointed at his selection then and I'm disappointed in it now.

Players can become UFA at age 27 or 7 years of service, whichever comes sooner. Sharangovich will be 27 in 2 years, hence he is eligible to become a UFA in 2 years if the Flames bridge him.

The Stockholm Syndrome here is wild.

All this signals to me is Conroy hasn't chosen a path. He is firmly on the fence. Not a good sign.

Not sure the math checks out there. flames got Toffoli 16 months ago.

16 months ago we traded for a guy who was coming off a season where he was on pace for 69 points and was in the midst of a mediocre season.

16 months later we traded a guy who was 16 months older coming off a 73 point season.

No. I think this clearly points towards they are re-tooling.

He probably will, since he won't be utilized as a top line winger on the Devils.

Huska as coach? Savard? Other players wanting out he wasn’t aware of before? Or not signing players he thought they were?

Not a great feeling about that in general.
What made him do a 180 was term. As in he wanted a long term deal and the Flames were not interested in that. If Tyler Toffoli would have been ok with a 3 year extension he would still be here. The same people bitching about this trade would have been even bitchier if Conroy has given Toffoli a 6 year extension.

Not the worst return.

He can play in the lineup.

5v5 stats similar to what Toffoli did.
