Pretty insane stuff. There's a really plausible and reasonable explanation here, where Hunter Biden is making all these threats without his dads knowledge. But lets all be honest here; if these names were Trump not Biden this would be the only story in the news.

and it's not like Hunter got a sweetheart deal there either. Experts have covered this, it's a pretty standard plea deal.

You dont think its a serious matter that Hunter is saying him and his father expect a shake down payment from a chinese business? It's probably more likely that his loser son was hopped up on drugs and talking out of his ass, and his Dad had no idea what he was doing. However, he was with Joe at the time and certainly this warrants an investigation.

An unsuccessful middle aged man, who was born into a powerful family running around the and telling everyone how powerful he is, is like garden variety run of the mill corruption. Not good, but just not surprising.
It's just not on the same order of magnitude as the Trumps;
Accepting direct investments from the Saudis (public records),
Use of public and foreign funds to rent Trump properties (public records),
Sexual harassment (civil conviction),
Fomenting insurrection (we've all seen the tape),
Election tampering (Georgia charges pending),
Charity / tax fraud (Indicted),
Literal espionage (Indicted, even if he just did it to show off to his friends),
Using government funds to blackmail people for political benefit (Ukraine, a travesty of the political process that when they said "show me the tapes" then got the tapes, then moved the goal posts).
The fascist tendencies of vilifying and othering out groups to the point that they are at risk of physical harm ("Their rapists, murderers", ban the muslims, "china virus", unfounded accusations of grooming, attacks on the media...)
It's fine to think that Hunter should be held accountable, he got a pretty garden variety conviction for pretty garden variety corruption. But conflating it in any way with what the Trumps have done is disingenuous to the point of willful ignorance.
Edit: I also forgot being an unindicted co-conspirator in the successful conviction of misuse of election funds

There also seems to be this weird idea that "liberals" somehow are against a prosecution of Hunter Biden, or investigations into shady dealings with people like Pelosi or basically any elected official. Like.... okay go for it. Put em in jail if that's what is appropriate. Your dude held the highest office on Earth with a justice department doing his bidding, hand picked judges at every level with a stacked supreme court. He could have initiated any sort of even semi-credible investigation that he wanted. So, yeah. Do it.
