I think it's the perfect storm for the Flames to get somewhere in the ballpark of fans desires on the returns.

Given the rumored interest so far I think they could corner the market on teams looking to add at those two positions.

I hope you’re right.

People, just expect most of the trade return will be 2nds and some prospect nobody knows who is he. I mean, keep your expectations low like me. That way you will be just Okay or super happy when you get the real trade news.

The picks are late… but Jarvis is a very good young player who looks ready to pop. First two years in the league he has put together back-to-back 40 point seasons and looked awesome in the playoffs. He plays centre and I think would be a great fit with Huberdeau.

I really like that deal

30 + 62 + Jarvis

Likely a sign and trade (good thing Conroy learned directly from the GM that started that trend)

Yeah Nonis is a wicked sounding board to bounce off of . Add in Maloney providing some oversight, Connie's in good hands.

I guess that is one way to frame your mindset. Set low expectations and they can be exceeded. Depends on what you think acceptable returns are though.

I am not sure I buy a high pick and blue chip prospect for Lindholm, I think it will be one of those at best if is he traded.

I am not getting too pumped for futures returns until we hear Lindholm is out either.

Is it bad I just want SEC214 to nail one of these just for a boost of confidence of this board in him? Either way, I find enjoyment in his Meme game and me wondering what the heck its supposed to mean?

Would act as the backbone for an entirely new build of the Calgary Flames. I don't think retention is as important on Lindholm and Hanifin, because the teams that I'd expect to be targeting players like that (and going after long-term extensions) have the cap space available this year to easily swallow their sub-$5M salaries.

Maximizing returns on Backs, Toff, and Tanev though would be to ship those guys to contenders on the brink (Leafs, Rangers, Canes?) where they're likely looking to minimize salary intake at all costs.

This is why I hope Conroy does it this Summer. This is the tear down Summer in my eyes and provides us the shortest path to a new beginning.

 Summer 2023: Rip down.

Season 2023/2024: No significant adds, trade off bits at the deadline, maximize your own 2024 1st round pick

Summer 2024: Do whatever. You want to go right back to spending like a mad-man in free agency? Fine...but at least we restocked in in 2023/2024.
 |
Why not retain on Lindholm and Hanifin too? Opens up the amount of teams that can fit them in.

I wouldn't have thought RW is a big Seattle need, with Eberle, Bjorkstrand, Geekie and Sprong, and with Firkus in the wings. Maybe anticipating some hard RFA negotiations and a different deal to trade off Geekie and/or Sprong.
