So does the Wagner group return to support in Ukraine or do they stick by the claim of false pretence for the war?

A quick google indicates Canada has contributed $8 billions in numerous kinds of aid to Ukraine. More my point.

It's late evening in Moscow. I assume no significant news come out until tomorrow.

Holding out hope that Putin somehow uses this as an excuse to withdraw while saving face. I don't care if it's dumb, let the Russian people decide.

Got to admit, I didn't see a negotiation stopping Wagner here.

Russian politics are weird.

Straying off topic I know, but I like to give Canada all the credit it deserves as it deserves a lot for it's military contributions in the first half of the 20th century. I would argue it actually was a military super power by the end of World War II, at least compared to 90% of all other countries if that's how it's measured.

I don’t quite understand this.

Prigohzin showed he’s not loyal so eventually Putin needs to get rid of him so why does Prigohzin stop? What assurances does he have that he isn’t defenestrated shortly?

For Putin this gives him an opportunity to regroup and purge.

Maybe the idea that this whole thing was staged as an excuse to leave the war is real? Seems overly dramatic and might cost them Belerus

chief needs to stay away from windows from here on out… he’s a prime candidate for defenestration. May want to stay away from warm beverages from strangers.

It's Wagner fully withdrawing or are they going to remain in control of several Russian cities?

Either a staged scene by Putin to smoke out enemies in the military or Prighozin got a deal he couldn't refuse or lost some support.

Here's my joke for the day

Ahem

So

Last week the American's find a 6.2 billion dollar accounting mistake

The next week a mercenary group switches sides for a few days and attacks their former employer.

Then the rebellion ends with no punishment for treason.

In December all Wagner group employees open their christmas bonuses to see a one year membership to the jam of the month club. And a Radio Shack battery of the month club card.

So this leaves Putin and Russia in a pickle, Wagner now will insist on keeping their troops in a single group, no way they allow themselves to be separated, they will want a single area to be responsible for, Donbass or the like with no Army units to worry about or rely on, Moscow cant trust them, nor can they trust Moscow ever, Prigozhin will stay firmly in his troops like some vodka drinking Roman Legate with his 4 legions, not enough to cross the Rubicon but the war cant be fought without them, Moscow will clearly have to starve Wagner of supplies, it has to reduce their power but Wagner cant allow this and rebellion is its only card, this aint over by a long shot and how they conduct a war with Ukraine at the same time is difficult to fathom
