I think you can make a case for the 1st and a prospect. You're not getting a roster player on top of it, unless it's a cap dump.
|
I think sillinger is a better prospect but not by a big margin. 20 year old sillinger (now) had a comparable year to 19 year old Raty (when raty was traded).
Peeke and bean are the same caliberof player and age as beauvillier.
Cbj is overloaded with defence right now.

I don't think anyone is trading for players on the 2018 WJC team until that investigation is complete and the results are published. Bean was on that team.
From my vantage point, I'd be deeply interested in a trade with Denton Mateychuk at the centre. Maybe you could do something like Mateychuk + Blankenburg + Chinakhov or Roslovic. Or maybe Boqvist in there over Blankenburg.

Duhatschek in the Athletic has five trade ideas to throw around.
A couple of them might be interesting for Flames fans to substitute Lindholm in place of the expiring free agent players.
https://theathletic.com/4597599/2023...rincat-zegras/
1. Ducks trade Trevor Zegras to the Blue Jackets for the No. 3 pick in 2023
2. Jets trade Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Hurricanes for Martin Necas and Jesperi
Kotkaniemi
3. Flames trade Dan Vladar to the Kings for Sean Durzi and a second-round pick
4. Flyers trade Kevin Hayes to Avalanche for future considerations (40 percent salary
retained)
5. Senators trade Alex DeBrincat to the Red Wings for Filip Zadina and the 17th pick in
2023
Zegras for #3 is a much more plausible trade than Lindholm for #3.
Lindholm to the Hurricanes for that package would help the Flames to get younger.
Lindholm to the Wings idea has been talked about before. Would help the Flames in Zadina ever lived up more to his draft potential.

Zegras for #3 is infinitely closer to fair value. I'd be shocked if the Ducks did that though. Zegras has that Patty Kane feel to him.

I don’t see why CBJ would pass up on a big, two-way centre when they already have two forwards similar to Zegras in Gaudreau and Johnson. From a roster construction perspective, it doesn’t make much sense.
The CAR beat reporter for the Athletic just did a stay/leave prognosis, and interestingly he had Necas in the ‘maybe leave’ category. He’s supposed to have been offered in the Tkachuk pitch last summer. And in spite of his big surge in production, Necas’ wilting in the playoffs again has apparently become a concern.
You’d have to think Necas would be the bulk of the return in a Lindholm deal - he’s four years younger and outscored Lindholm by 7 points this season.
I’d stay away from Zadina. He’s trending the wrong way, and DET have other young players with upside and without the warning signs of Zadina.

Duha is one of my favourite all time journalists...but IMO he's a bit out to lunch lately.
1. Anaheim has built their entire marketing brand around Zegras, I doubt he's moved.
2. Necas had 71 points last year which is better than any season in Dubois entire career, and he's a year younger. You're not trading him and Kotkaniemi for Dubois.
3. Sean Durzi had 9 goals and 38 points last year...you're not getting him and a 2nd for Dan Vladar.

I would trade Lindholm straight up for Necas, I would even add. Of course when I suggested that same thing myself I got dogpiled on for suggesting Carolina would do that.

Zadina is a home run swing. He's languished in Detroit's system but if he can deliver on some of that promise, hooo boy.

So would I, although I think there is zero chance that Carolina trades Necas now that he's broken out.
The time to trade for Necas was before his break out season. That ship has now sailed.

According to some here, this is the best time to try and get him because smart teams all want to sell high.

I can't believe how many Lindholm for 3OA proposals were on CP over the last month. And they were serious, and in some cases actually pulling other posters back with their adds, suggesting they were giving too much for it.
whoa whoa whoa, if we're giving them Lindholm AND our 16thOA they'd better be sending their other first back as well!!!

3-way trade CLB/CGY/PHI centered around 3OA - Konecny
Flames broker but don’t give Philly the 3rd pick and don’t give Columbus Konecny.

Thank you
I was going to say either piece of that deal would be an amazing return for Vladar alone both.
The Carolina deal seems like a crazy overpay as well unless Kotkaniemi is already seen as a cap dump. If I am Carolina I have no interest in a straight PLD-Necas swap let alone adding to it.

|
He will be 38 at the end of his 8 year contract.
Hey’s a great player needing a contract for his likely non- prime years which will decrease his value.
Now, that doesn’t mean a poor return, but he’s not getting the #3 OA or multiple first round picks .
