They still have a few guys who play with an edge. Kadri is the biggest example, but there's others as well.

I listened to the podcast and it sounded more like a suggestion than an actual report about Tanguay being a AC.
All Rhett said was Conroy wants guys who are involved in the community and care.
Will be interesting how the staff rounds out. Doesn't really feel like Tangs is in the mix at all.

Sec214 doubling down on no Huska against Friedman and other posters.. should be interesting. I would be happy with Love, Tanguay, and Boudreau.
Unless I am reading wrong and the strikethrough line means Huska is the next coach.

Love getting passed over for the job in this case seems like… Huska Huska burnin’ Love

Sigh. The only criteria for naming a HC is who is the best fit for this group now. Not who has been the good soldier. Huska's been past up and over for a reason. Love won't be. Say goodbye to that cat before 24/25 season. In my mind this is like letting Valimaki go on waivers to keep Stone. Dumb

Your losing one or the other I think both guys think it's "Now or Never".
I've herd Love and Huska - I just trust my information around Love more than Huska but I've received incorrect information before.

I can see Huska not being interested in being a Love staff, but do you think Love would/could be on a Huska staff?

How loyal is he though he took interviews to go other places and was passed over for the job.
The only people saying he was a finalist for the Detroit job are the same people pushing for him in the media like Steinberg, while Jeff Marek is saying he was a finalist in Chicago.
Promoting someone for being loyal seems dumb, you go with the best fit.
So far the main points being made for Huska are loyalty and paid his dues those are not very encouraging reasons to hire someone.
If he is the best fit for the job so be it, but it better not be because well he paid his dues and has been loyal. Would be a pretty dumb reason to hire someone.

From what I have heard from his interviews he wants to be a head coach, so I can't see him taking the assistants role under someone else he was passed over for.
This isn't a Nonis situation here.
Even Marek made it sound like things could get interesting here if Huska is selected over Love.

You’re not going to get an established coach to burn his last chance with this roster.
You will get a guy who wants an opportunity to do more with less.
|
Based on the comments from the pressers, I think they think they're in a window to be the next Panthers.

I'm lead to believe Calgary's going to have to pick a horse here. Originally I think it was a plan to have both return in some compacity but it may have went sideways.
Job offers don't get signed right away all the time... There is a deadline for those who got one though.

Why did you say F Yzerman after saying he let Tangs interview for HC here lol.
If Tanguay wants to leave to come here are they working on compensation going to Detroit? Would be weird for a team to not let a coach go who wants to be elsewhere.

We are closer to 16-18 Stars then 22-23' Panthers.

I don't think he was promoted for being loyal.
Or would you rather of had Stan Bowman or Dave Nonis?

I read that to mean there might be a hangup because Detroit doesn't want to let him go for a lateral position, only for the HC position.
